long thread, going to have to do some reading, though I don't own an rb5 it could be interesting to pick up the heory and aplly elsewhere ;)
Anyway, thanks, i didn't know about that forum, immediately registered
Maybe they discontinued that kit because a new rb5 is just out again with changes in the suspension geometry...

ya the new car is basically the "mid arm conversion", the velvet shocks, gold shock shafts, and the gold "hardened steel" turnbuckles, which no one uses anyway, they all go titanium. ive been more steel turnbuckles over the years than i can remember.

i gotta say i love building this car and the geometry of everything and how well it all fits. there really arent ANY hopups out there, which i almost like, kyosho makes all the "hopup" parts really, and lunsford makes a turnbuckle set, and a few companies make bodies.. its almost a nice thing not to have to buy crazy hopups and mods..

i havent been happier with a car in a long time, i have run a friends one night, and it handles beautifully, cant wait to get mine done.

i cut my race b4 up after i broke the chassis and made the javelin hybrid cage for it, ill stick to running it for fun etc.. im done racing associated for a while. i havent heard a single thing about a rc10b5 yet, i dont even know if its in the works.

The pictures show new rear wheels also. Maybe they have a different offset to keep things within legal width.
Atomic carbon did a new shocktower geometry for the rear. I think i read about that at oople

nicely done.did you have someone make them for you? the radio plate design looks good as well.
what did they cost you to make? i remember someone on ebay was looking to get around 50$ for the towers.

dynotech made them up for me, chad's work is top notch and perfect and flawless, takes pride and it shows.
towers were a little more than that but at least i can get replacements anytime i need, that other guy that sells the towers never sells them anymore

the top plate was based off a JG fiberlgass tower

tops!
did he put some partnrs on these so we can order them easily?

for the top plate: when I mounted my JG fiberglass plate to the turbo ultima chassis I had troubles getting the rear screws into the bulkhead. Didn't mind that as it fitted with some effort, but later I found the chassis had bent up just in front of the rear bulkhead because of this. It kind of changed the camber to almost neutral on the rear arms
How is the fit on yours?

can you just mount it to the side rails of the chassis and make pics of how the holes align over the sterring posts , fornt bulkhead and rear bulkhead?

Funny thing is: I also have a carbon chassis of JG: which is swb like the turbo ultima, and again the holes inthe bulkheads don't match the holes in the JG top plate.

 Do you ever take the pack out?
(how thick is the upper deck acutally?)
I must say I'm impressed with your continuing dedication to this project, and the result is real impressive.
Hope you're having fun at the track.
Looking forward to see action pics some time too
subtle hint
