Rc10 Sprinter
Rc10 Sprinter
I just picked these bodies and rims up over the weekend at my local lhs. I am interest in building up the sprinter , it appears the exhaust and lower cage are molded already. Does it reguire a cage to complete the build and also how is the wing installed ? Any pictures of a completed sprinter would be appreciated.

Re: Rc10 Sprinter
YOU GOT THEM WHERE? Holy cow!! Do you know how old they are. GOD. Thats a find and half.
No there no cage with it. and you don't need one. Don't .DO NOT run them bodys you will never find another. That header card is 20 years old. The rim you have are form two different eras. The front are from the old original A chassis and the rears are 3 piece 2.0 rims from the 90s.
The wing I think just goes on the wing wire and faces the other way but i'm not sure about that.

Re: Rc10 Sprinter
i think that would be another supply and demand thing. i highly doubt the demand would be worth suppling them.
Re: Rc10 Sprinter

Cool , thanks for the picture scr8p. Think I saw those Kodiak decals there also , will have to go back and check. There was also a rc10gt and chevy nascar with the same white header , if anybody is looking for one of those I can pick them up. Did these bodies come with an overspray film also?

Re: Rc10 Sprinter
No overspray film on any of the old AE bodies. I guess this means that you're thinking of painting it? I'm gonna go against the popular opinion in this thread and say go for it!

Re: Rc10 Sprinter
I don't think these bodies were all that popular so they are still out there hanging on the hooks. I personally like them myself but since there are so many actual 'caged' sprints out there these bodies seemed to get overlooked. My local hobbytown went out of business last fall and had the original one they bought in the store when it started marking things down. I finally picked it up for $8 the last day they were open. It had hung on the hook for 15+ years thru 4 different locations. The LHS had one hanging on the hook til he finally put it in a box in the back since he needed the hook space for stuff that was actually selling and I took that one off his hands during the move to the new shop for his cost a year and a half ago. I put a starting bid of $15(free shipping) in on one last year and got it with it being a 10 day auction.
You'll find there are more collectors than runners on this site so you'll get this kind of reaction but to 'buck the norm' I think you got a great project and will make a really nice runner. Its easy enuf without overspray film on these if you just take saran wrap and tape it at all 4 square edges on the top side. Its still clear enuf to see what you are painting but you'll have to lay out any of your lines to mask off inside 'freehand' without the help of drawing it on the top first. Little more work but still do-able. Please...keep us informed on your progress. Will be interesting and maybe will give me the ambition to finish one of mine up
