You would basically need an extension plate, that would go from the main chassis to the front nose plate to extend the wheel base.

Any holes in my gameplan, please feel free to exploit and correct....
I guess a guy that put a little more thought into the scheme.

I like the thought of converting the 10T, sounds like a challenging project. Who cares about saving a few extra dollars here and there...it's the project that is the key. I think it's more about doing the work yourself and having something truly unique. It sounds kinda gay when typing it out, but whatever :?

Go for it, just post some photos for the rest of us can have some RC10 porn

for me, i really wouldn't worry about the money side of it. it's all about building something different and making it work.

anyone can go out a buy a kit...................

I'll probably still do it.... I bought an aluminum plate to do the extension, now I gotta figure out how to make some longer support tubes, or would some links work??

"links" as in steering links, not internet links...

The aluminum plates are as thick as the 10T chassis, and very ridit, hopefully I'll be able to cut it with my dremel.

I'm thinking maybe bend up a piece of alloy with sides that go up as high as the sides of the tub, attached through the normal nose plate screw holes and the nose tube holes, and then the front of that can be a copy of the front of the original chassis to attach a standard 10T nose plate and nose tubes. So just an extension of the chassis, should be alot stiffer than a flat extension with extended nose tubes.

if you use angle iron on the extension you can use stock tubes and this will stiffen chassis..like what bugle said, just i rather buy angle iron then bend metal to fit..if you have the tools to bend the metal, his way will look and perform better.. 8)

i've dremeled alot associated tubs. it takes a bit of patience, and you will burn thru alot of cutoff disks but it can be done. steering/suspension links could be used for longer nose tubes, but if the extension was really long i could see alot of rotational twist going on that the extended nose tubes wouldnt be able to handle unless you triangulated them or something.

if you have a buddy who can tig aluminum how freakin cool would it be to tig a couple pans together? methinks pretty cool...

also, ALOT of the length could be taken care of with a 4linked solid axle in the back... 8)
