REPRO LAZER BODIES

I am a big fan of kyosho lazer and the problem of lazer it is bodies thus to resolve this probleme I have to decide of realized my own reproduction (lazer ZX ZXR and MAXXUM)
with PETG 0,75mm

Didnt you think of looking on www.kamtec.co.uk as they do the ZX and ZX-S and the Ultima and Optima shells including the LWB.

Still nice work, what price will you start selling them for?

How is the PETG working out for you? I never have the personal success in terms of quality for me to continue using it. In my experience it doesn't keep it's shape very well or long.

I use of the rather thick PETG what allows to have bodies rather resistant, the purpose being to have bodies to run.
The price is near 11 euro for a body (I buy small quantities of plastic what increases the price)

I make that in my oven of cooking with the vacuum cleaner, me does not make that in a commercial purpose (there is pro for that) but have do not find these bodies, I made them and I try to share with the lovers of LAZER they are not perfected but have find there not of the other one

I've had very good luck with PETG. It has its shortcomings: softer/scratches easier, more flexible, not quite as good optically. But, it's cheap (1/4 the cost of polycarbonate), vacuum forms much easier, absorbs less moisture and accepts paint just as well as polycarbonate. I haven't had any problems with it losing its shape. So, all in all, a great, cheap material for testing out a mold and for making runner bodies.

Antony did some repro's from PETG and these shells brake real easy when you roll over. Ive lost alot of very nice paintjobs and some rare genuine decal sets to these bodies.....

That sucks. Just like polycarbonate, there are different grades of PETG. The cheaper ones may be junk, but I'm very happy with the grade I use. That said, I still wouldn't use PETG for anything other than a runner body that I'd expect to be punished. It it what it is: a much cheaper alternative to polycarbonate.
