Re: old esc
What are you doing with the car? running it on a track or just backyard/ street use. If you are looking to race it, there are lots of forward only esc's that will do the job. You can ususlly get a decent tekin or novak for $30-40 off ebay.
If you arre just playing and want reverse, then this is a great choice:
http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=360100154704
13 turn limit, and only $30.

Re: old esc
Tekin still services the old stuff too. I sent in a couple of my early '90s era 411(s) last year for new wires, and to fix the BEC on one (not fried, just a grounding issue it turned out).

Re: old esc
well, if your gonna be racing, i wouldn't buy an old esc.
how much do you want to spend? with a lot of people going brushless, the price to top of the line esc's are coming down. you could get an lrp qc3 for $95 if you go through that link anthony posted. actually, i remember seeing a new one in an ebay auction with a buy it now of $80.

Re: old esc
Yes you can, I used to do it all the time before everybody (I think) standarized on the Futaba J style plugs. In the day I normally used KO FET servos, but Futaba plugs, as the speedos, receivers and such always seemed more readily available in Futaba versions. All that really matters is getting the wires in the correct order. You might need to either change the plug or modify it to get it to physically fit into the receiver slot. I may even have some instructions some where.bhamptn wrote:yeah just want a old one. can i change out the plugs to fit my receiver?
For the Tekin repair, it's a flat rate, they might well still fix it. If interested email them through [email protected].
Re: old esc
if you can find the info on the plugs please post. my tekin ciruit board is broke into,
it wouldnt be worth trying to fix. atleast i dont hink anyway.
