If you can try to find an old Novak Cyclone..... It was arguably Novaks best and most popular ESC.
I was old school - when old school wasn't cool !

Re: What ESC would you use?
I could see the benefit of the Atom if you were going for every 10th of a second. 4 cell 27t stock motor is quite mellow and anything would work really.
Traction is the biggest factor of which ESC to use.
I had an Mtroniks Prodigi ESC which was the size of a quarter.

I would use what ever you have sitting next to you.
All of the above are better than what we might have on hand. Go for the most exotic choice, and have fun.

I wouldn't pick a T-4 for being as smooth or efficient as something a bit newer with a higher drive frequency, although it does have simplicity on its side.

Re: What ESC would you use?
I had 410-M5s in both my stock buggy and truck in the day and never had any issues. Wish I still had my M5s. I did like the size of them too as they weren't too big. Cyclones were great, but definitely bigger form factor. Even a decent Tekin 411 series... or an LRP Quantum maybe?

Thank you for this.
I don't care about brand or age just what to look for.
Ok I have some searching to do.

Re: What ESC would you use?
Out of curiosity, I looked up what my old Tekin's could handle... Here's a good link for older Tekins.
http://www.teamtekin.com/archive.html
If you're looking at these, any of the 411 models would probably do the trick just fine. I've used most all of those at one point back in the day in my 6cell stock oval car and they did a fine job. I need to dig out my box of ESCs to even see what I have left...

Re: What ESC would you use?
I was going to suggest a Novak Cyclone since they seem to be going for next to nothing on ebay and I still think of them as top end stuff. I picked up a lot of 3 cyclones, a cyclone TC, an Atom, a GTS and a Tekin Pro Tempfet for $35, then grabbed a Novak pit Wizard for $12. That equipment is still better than my driving haha.
