ESC
I'm running out of ESCs for my cars. I only have a super rooster left which is overkill for what I need.
What would be a good ESC WITH REVERSE for cheap. Something for stock and middle range modified motors . I need something cheap so I can buy like 3.
Thanks for any info...

Re: ESC
techica also has a couple over here: http://www.rc10talk.com/viewtopic.php?f=6&t=7029
One is brand new 8T, the G10 is a great esc with no limit on less than 8 cells and I think the SpeedStars were 10T limit. If I hadn't started the brushless transition his stuff would have been gone by now!!
Good luck.

They're still about 100$Bugle wrote:LRP AI bullet reverse, run 8 turn motors on mine with no problems. The thing is huge though, but fits in anything from RC10 to B4. I imagine they'd be pretty cheap on Ebay these days..

Re: ESC
that looks like a cheap knockoff of the futaba mc230cr. I had bad results with one a while back, it burnt up rather quickly. Others I asked on another board had mixed results. for the price it may be worth a shot though.AYKBOBCAT wrote:Any one ever tried these? you get a key chain with it!

well, it says it's only good down to a 23 turn motor. so you can keep your modifieds packed up.AYKBOBCAT wrote:Any one ever tried these? you get a key chain with it!

Re: ESC
I've tried a few of the "no-name" ESC's currently available on ePay and from the usual HK suspects... and I gave up after all of them prematurely toasted or were simply DOA. Others have had better results than me, but statistically they end up being just as expensive as anything else.
I would recommend staying away from reverse ESC's anyway, especially as mod motors just hate being run in reverse rotation.
my reco if you're happy with forward only is to find a lightly used novak cyclone (or cyclone TC), the quality on these things is incredible, it's the used ESC that holds up the best the test of time (especially compared vs. LRP gear, whose fets soften with time). Bob and Tyree know their stuff

Re: ESC
Brandon- I'm not up on the LRP ESCs, but is the Quantum Super Reverse for 540 motors? I know some of these were for minis (380 size). If so this is a great deal: http://cgi.ebay.com/Associated-LRP-Quantum-Super-Reverse-ESC-LRP8420_W0QQitemZ360100154704QQcmdZViewItemQQptZRadio_Control_Parts_Accessories?hash=item360100154704&_trksid=p3286.c0.m14&_trkparms=72%3A1205%7C66%3A2%7C65%3A12%7C39%3A1%7C240%3A1318
It looks just like my Futaba MC800C but with reverse too!

Re: ESC
AYK was looking for ESCs with reverse. Aren't those fwd only ESCs?
