How does that work with losi wheels? the last set of jrx-2 wheels I tried to use acetone on I wound up getting my fingerprints melted into the surface (I know I should use gloves). Boiling warped another of stock losi wheels. I haven't tried the superclean yet.bearrickster wrote:Thats how I do it soak them in Acetone then soak the rims in Castrol super clean to remove the glue from the wheel it makes them look new good stuff

Re: Early Tamiya Wheels and Acetone
I just cleaned a set of yellow X2 wheels in acetone over the weekend. I didn't notice anything bad either during or post process.
I am not here cause I am playing photographer and on my mountain bike.

Re: Early Tamiya Wheels and Acetone
hello All,
There were 2 types of jrx2 wheels. The early versions used a light orange plastic that WILL melt if you soak them in acetone.
Losi later used a different type plastic because the wheels developed small cracks where the bearings go. The cracks were caused by stress and the lube inside the bearings.
The dark orange, white, red, yellow, florescent yellow and clear nylon wheels were made out of the new material.
Regards,
highwayracer
