Re: jay halsey replica (updated)
ya..... tell me about it. i mounted that body almost 2 years ago, on page 1.Asso_man! wrote:and one of the longest too looking at the high visiting number
it's the pactra metallic blue out of the bottles, not the aerosol cans. i did a bunch of spray outs on scrap lexan with the spray cans, backing it with different colors and what not, and i was just not happy with the color. they were way too metallic looking (silver/bright). so, then i did a couple using my airbrush and a small detail spray gun i use at work. the spray gun seemed to work the best. i was able to lay it on pretty heavy, since the tip is bigger than the ones i have for my airbrush. a 1.0 tip in the gun, compared to a .3 or .5 in my airbrush. if it tried to spray light coats, it would look too bright/metallic. but, hammering a heavy wet coat on with the spray gun seemed to do the trick.BTracer wrote:What blue did you use? Re: jay halsey replica (updated)
if i had some wing wire, this bad boy would be DONE. well, except for painting the window netting. i'd still like to find another JG decal, but this one will have to do until the right one comes along.
