A different type of Jay Halsey Replica
A different type of Jay Halsey Replica
Ugh, my camera keeps making my parts look yellow, maybe it is the color of the blanket under the car... oh well. Here is a work in progress. Thanks to Sofa King for the Jammin Jay body. If you want one, he may have more, but I am not sure.
Thanks for looking!

Re: A different type of Jay Halsey Replica
Your Halsey Replica is coming along very nicely. I like the extended front shock tower and front bumper although I think white spring collars (and even white spring cups) would suit the car better imo.
Keep us updated with your progress.

Re: A different type of Jay Halsey Replica
the black spring parts were used because that is what was in the ad from TEAM LOSI in 1990, for the JAMMIN Jay line of parts. I will post a picture when I can scan it in.

Re: A different type of Jay Halsey Replica
I've got some BRP packaged black spring cups from that era also. The bottom cups were slotted to solve the obvious problem with the original parts...
The only problem in this day and age is that nobody knows...
Nice start on that machine Asa.

Asa, do you have a pic of what you are trying to replicate, or is this your interpetation?
I am not here cause I am playing photographer and on my mountain bike.

I'm thinking it's a 1988 replica he's going for.
I can't seem to find any pics.

Copyright says 1990 Team Losi. I just posted it under the scan's section so here is the link:mrlexan wrote:Asa, do you have a pic of what you are trying to replicate, or is this your interpetation?

Thanks for the Jammin Wing mounts, they are the same as the Losi Cam lock type but only molded in white... looks like I will be using the stock Losi black ones to replicate the car in the picture though.
Thanks for looking all

Re: A different type of Jay Halsey Replica
All the Jammin Products were made by and marketed through Losi. I have a couple of Losi catalogs with Jammin products listed as well. Also, that is why the wing mounts are the same, but in a different color.

Here's the BRP spring retainers:

And a bonus, Jammin' Jay's nuts:
Kind of funny, on a side note, that Jay is referred to as "Jamin' Jay" in the original RC10 newsletter...
Re: A different type of Jay Halsey Replica
BRP looks just like stock huh?
What you doing taking pictures of Jay's NUTS?
just kidding

Re: A different type of Jay Halsey Replica
Except they're machined rather than molded. What are the Jammin' ones like?asashaw wrote:BRP looks just like stock huh?
Figured you'd like seeing Jay's nuts.

Re: A different type of Jay Halsey Replica
Machined huh? neat. Mine are stock AE either dyed or molded in black, I don't remember, they are not Jammin though.templeofspeed wrote:Except they're machined rather than molded. What are the Jammin' ones like?asashaw wrote:BRP looks just like stock huh?
