RC10GT Pull Start Replacement

Post by jackdc100 »

The string for my 90s RC10GT pull start broke. What part do I get to fix it? It it easiest to just replace the whole assembly? It had a mid-90s Dynamite .12PD engine in it.

if the spring is not broken you can rewind it. This may work also.

Oh nice :) Thank you. Just the string is broken. I guess I was hoping to replace just that. I am not sure if that is a realistic option though. I know these can be a real hassle to fix if only one part is broken. I also need an o-ring that goes inside the high speed needle. The old one was toast. I don't know if you guys know what size will fit in there. It Is the o ring that goes inside this: https://www.ebay.com/itm/174839175156

Will something like this work? https://www.amazon.com/Dynamite-String-Pull-Start-DYN6230/dp/B0006O5212. It doesn't look too bad to repair just the string from what I am seeing on YouTube.

Edit: for some reason it won't let me paste the link. It is for a generic Dynamite pull start string part number DYN6230.

I fixed the link for you. That's weird that Amazon links don't work unless they're wrapped in the URL tags. They must be blocking them otherwise.
