The GTX and NXT
It’s Team Losi day for me. I’ve had the GTX for a little bit now. Slowly “cleaning it up”. Mostly just slapping some new wheels, tires, and some graphite parts to glamour it up. When I bought it I didn’t realize the chassis was supposed to be black. So in my months long waiting search. I stumbled on a silly low priced super clean NXT. It needs a lot of TLC but it looks good with some fresh wheels, tires, and body.
Not sure why these pictures get jumbled up using the site uploader.
The GTX has an original body I also found, it’s a little dusty.
And the fully stripped chassis
Fresh chassis
Here’s the NXT underside
Bluegroove repro body, fresh wheels, tires only thing I’ve done to this truck
Anyone else have this approach to disassembling unfamiliar cars?
Another picture randomly out of order, fresh chassis on the GTX. A little more bag/shelf wear than I’d like but can’t complain I guess.
Both trucks will get paint one day. Happy to have added them to my nitro truck collection.
Here’s another random out of order picture. Not sure how many cars you can take every screw out of the chassis and have everything stay pretty much intact.

I do not. These were both used eBay picks. I don’t actively search out boxes. If they come with one they just get used for parts storage containers.

Re: The GTX and NXT
Question.
Do you have or know of anyone that might sell an original RC10GT Box Art build?

Re: The GTX and NXT
It would take a small fortune for me to come off my GT as I’m not interested in selling it. Outside of that I have not seen any for sale in a long time. If you have access to the boards classifieds, post up a wanted thread.
Very nice Losi builds BTW! Love the box art bodies!

Wrong romulus dude. There are more than one with a similar user name. The Romulus you seek (Romulus-10) hasn't been here in years
It's time to stand up to the bully. Support the companies that support the industry, not the ones that tear it down. Say no to Traxxas

Re: The GTX and NXT
Very Nice! Wow, blast from the past. Had both of these back in the day when new. My friends had RC10 GT's, I got the Losi to be different. Shouldn't have! We mostly just ran on the road, neither Losi could be geared high enough. The GT's pulled away from me.
I kept melting the plastic idler gear in the transmission. I worked at a tool & die shop at the time and made a gear from Fortal aluminum on the wire EDM. Kept stripping screws in the graphite reinforced plastic. First & last Losi's I bought until the mini cars and truck came out.
These trucks & a T-Maxx around the same time were among the last nitro cars I ran. I have a shelfer rere RC10 GT that I will never run, so I guess I am not actually done with nitro yet.

What about a Paris Racing AL115 box art pipe and or box art manifold?romulus22 wrote: ↑Tue Apr 01, 2025 4:29 amIt would take a small fortune for me to come off my GT as I’m not interested in selling it. Re: The GTX and NXT
The Paris pipe is near impossible. I’ve been searching on and off for 10+ years now for a new pipe. The only one I have seen outside of magazine ads is the one I own.
I was told by Curtis Husting the header was a one off part. You need to make one of those if you want a perfect copy of that.
