Team Losi NXT

Post by Dangeruss »

In 1999 Team Losi replaced their GTX 1/10 gas stadium truck with a new model, named the NXT. Compared side-by-side the difference between the GTX and the NXT were subtle. Both trucks used the same black anodized aluminum main chassis and molded upper chassis brace, pull start .12 motor connected to a slipper clutch equipped three-gear transmission, and an LX-T derived lower arm and adjustable turnbuckle suspension with oil filled, teflon coated, Hard Body shocks at all four corners. Save for a new front bulkhead and rear arm pivots to widen the track width of the truck, 1-degree toe in rear carries, longer front axles, a pair of new fiberglass plate shock towers, and redesigned aluminum transmission brace the GTX and the NXT were nearly indistinguishable. Unless you opted for the Graphite Plus version of the NXT. Ticking the box for Losi's top of the line model gave you more than just a graphite molded upper chassis brace and a quartet of graphite molded suspension arms. the G+ also featured a full set of titanium turnbuckles, titanium nitride shock shafts, longer aluminum tuned pipe, MIP CVD rear axles turning Silver Compound Reptile tires, full bearings, and Losi's newest dual slipper clutch assembly. Three versions of the NXT were made available however, the NXT with bushings and a pull start motor, NXT Racer with full bearings but no motor, and the NXT Graphite Plus with the aforementioned upgrades but no motor. All three trucks rode on standard Dirt Shield rear wheels and XX-T Dirt Shield front wheels with Silver Compound Ribbed tires up front and Silver Compound Step Pin tires out back on the standard and racer versions. A redesigned clear lexan standard cab body with twin hood bulges and smoothed tonneau cover topped off all three kits which were sold unassembled less radio and electronics:
