It's been 20 years or more but I remember liking pickled pigs feet. There wasn't much in that house that wasn't available pickled
still have a crazy craving for pickled beets to this day.

Re: off topic: fry sauce
1. I have never heard of 'fry sauce' either... If Culver's and other chains around here have the stuff I clearly have not been paying attention.
2. I now have a taste for fried bologna sandwiches on white bread with Miracle Whip, not Mayo.
3. Pickled beets are the best, from childhood to today. Funny story about them... When I first married my wife had never had them before and I insisted she try them. She wound up liking them, but I neglected to warn her what beets do to you when you go to the bathroom. She freaked out thinking she was bleeding...

With so much talk of Mayo, I am just going to throw this out there.
PB and Mayo sandwich!!
Has to be on toast as to bring in a little crunch, but don't knock it until you try it!

Re: off topic: fry sauce
not sure if this is weird or not especially following the mayo and PB haha, but my same grandmother that made head cheese also made a peanut butter and jelly sandwich with dry salami slices on it, and to this day its by far my favorite sandwich. Sweet and savory, so good

Re: off topic: fry sauce
My son and I just so happened to be talking about this last weekend while eating at the ol AC. So I am born and bread in Utah, grown up on Fry Sauce. I've gotta claim that Fry Sauce was invented here. (Not the weirdest thing to come out of Utah..
) It is completely regional! Most people out of the regional Mountain area here, have not heard of it. Which I've got some sh1tty looks and wtf's over the years as to what Fry Sauce is all about. I know not everything is true on the internet,
buuuut a local joint here called Arctic Circle was supposedly the first place to have it. It was invented by the owner Don Carlos Edwards in the 1940's. Hell, who knows, but that's what I'm claiming! Haha.
Even tho Arctic Circle's isn't the best fry sauce. Bummer.
Fry sauce is amazing tho!

Yep the Artic Circles are still here in Idaho as well, and my main source
We had one in Oregon when I was young and I think they are all gone now.

Haha. That's awesome Jeff. Then you know how good their Ranch Burgers are!
I had no idea that AC was that far North. I could see Idaho/Wyoming and what not.

If you like that, then you'll like PB and honey with bacon bits. Came up with that one back in high school while grabbing a snack at a buddy's house. Sweet and savory, great combination!GoMachV wrote: ↑Wed Mar 05, 2025 6:38 pm not sure if this is weird or not especially following the mayo and PB haha, but my same grandmother that made head cheese also made a peanut butter and jelly sandwich with dry salami slices on it, and to this day its by far my favorite sandwich. Re: off topic: fry sauce
And since I threw out my PB & M sandwich secret, this opens the door to my other odd sandwich.
PB and Bacon. or bits, Burger (as toppings)!! Again, don't knock it until you try it! Had my first one of these in New Orleans, and sneak in one every few months or so at home.

I used to eat PBJ with classic lays potato chips on it when I was a kid.GoMachV wrote: ↑Wed Mar 05, 2025 6:38 pm not sure if this is weird or not especially following the mayo and PB haha, but my same grandmother that made head cheese also made a peanut butter and jelly sandwich with dry salami slices on it, and to this day its by far my favorite sandwich. In middle school I was known to have PB and dill slices on a sandwich.

Re: off topic: fry sauce
And look how you turned out
A local restaurant growing up that's now out of business sold a "honey lovin Jimmy Carter peanut butter bacon burger". Never tried it though!
