Wow, I wasn't anticipating the gold wheel edition.

I'm gonna buy one, probably 2. But am I the only one that thinks it's a bit... Ironic?

+1 I think this one came out really nice.
I'm sure associated watched how well it's been working for tamiya by just releasing special/anniversary versions of their iconic vehicles. Yes, heck yes, it's a cash cow and they are riding it hard, but kudos to them. It is a very in demand item right now.
Old school racing all the way!

Re: Team Associated RC10 2025 Metallic
If people continue to buy them, I'm happy for them. And I'm happy that it allows people to get in on the RC10 action.
The only ones I've purchased are the Hasley RC10 and the YZ-10. I was already considering building a Hasley-ish RC10 and was looking at different 4WD buggies. Of all the vintage 4WD's, the YZ-10 most suits my style.
I haven't gotten around to building them yet, along with a Turbo Scorpion and Tamiya Brat. But that will happen soon enough.
The main reason that I haven't bought more is that I already own several originals. 12 B1 buggies, 8 10T's, an E-GT conversion, and a monster truck conversion.

Always looking for new and interesting ways to waste money.

Re: Team Associated RC10 2025 Metallic
Seems about right, actually not to go off track I am a bit surprised in general in the AE vintage community relative to others all the China this, Taiwan that bashing. I get it we all wish they were still made here but it's been a long time. Then a long comes a guy named FAN and I couldn't be happier for him but the China bashing crowd is suddenly his best friend. So irony meets hypocrisy as I see it

So this is another "classic" kit but with gold chrome wheels?

He isn't promoting his item with an American flag and patriotic music thoughThen a long comes a guy named FAN and I couldn't be happier for him but the China bashing crowd is suddenly his best friend.

I would trade my nib 40th kit for a fanrc kit in a heartbeat...
I don't get how people are remaining to be excited over a cheap re-skin of literally the same thing... again, and again, and again.

Re: Team Associated RC10 2025 Metallic
I hear ya. I can imagine your perspective as a smaller USA manufacturer it hits different though. I've worked in pretty evil corporate land for a long time so I am pretty jaded when it comes to "honest" business. I haven't run into many from any country. At least at a certain size it is pretty rare.
I still think it is cool that no matter how many versions Thunder Tiger comes out with they are selling an iconic car (at too high of prices) designed in a shed in southern California on a stone tablet by a guy with a mean pocket protector.
You are not the 1st to say the FAN stuff is higher quality, haven't built one myself yet. That said there is a subjective quality I think we all get when we see it and visually I can sort of see it just looking at the pics, so makes sense.

Re: Team Associated RC10 2025 Metallic
I've thought about this too. It does seem there is more interest in these cars and vintage in general from a newer younger crowd. I think many of them just see them as something new and unique. They are not viewing them through the lens of, why did they not make the exact the car Cliff ran in summer of 1991 at that one track where they took a pic of it in RC Car Action and I remember from when I was 14. More just, "Oh cool, I like Gold Wheels".
Porsche has done it for years with the 911, the Purple shift knob Edition GT RS 3.4 of this year and it serves them well. May be smart business actually.
