That said TPU layer adhesion is great, and printing speed announced are fast: that could be a good test to do for suspension arms or other exposed parts...

I had those D shores in mind for testing purpose (arms, gearbox walls) so I'll probably order some to see...
Sounds promising, looking forward to your review. Maybe not as flexible but 68D might be okay for the tires I have in mind.

Anyway, with an SD card and the links Bambu have provided, I'm able to get past the QR. However, I'm still not able to bind to user account; printer screen still does not display a pin code.
Bambu suggest that my P1S needs a firmware update but so far their instructions have been incomplete and unclear. I feel like we could resolve this with a 5 minute phone conversation but instead they use email and limit replies to one per day.

Maybe someone could check this and report back? On my AT&T router manager, the list of connected devices includes "espressif" - is this the P1S? If so, then it confirms that the printer is connected.

My X1c's are listed as "Ampak" as they run a different controller, but a quick google shows others saying the P1 will come up as expressif (as well as smart light bulbs, switches, etc using the ESP32 module)

Thanks Jeff. I thought if I turned off the printer, it might show as "inactive" but that's not the case.
Anyway, I just compared the IP and hardware addresses with what's shown on the P1's display and they agree. So that settles it; the printer is connected.
Now, I just need Bambu to instruct me how to upgrade the firmware without having access to my user account. Everything I've tried so far has failed.

thanks again. :D

Normally, it should be able to do OTA (OnTheAir) updates... That said, it may have a user connected for this...

And since the post, I've search for offline update via SD card... Unfortunately, for the P1 series, it's marked as "coming soon"...

https://wiki.bambulab.com/en/general/update-firmware-from-sd-card

And from the firmware upgrade guide of the P1 series : https://wiki.bambulab.com/en/p1/manual/firmware-upgrading
"When the printer is connected to Wi-Fi and connected to a user account, and a new firmware is available, you will get a prompt to install it that looks like in the picture below."

It seems you have to get connected first :-/. You will have to wait for Bambu support response, I'm afraid...

Thanks. I've travelled down the same path so I'm just waiting for Bambu support to reply. Hopefully, they won't simply drop a few bread crumbs again.
"coming soon" I'm aware this could be a dead-end (until Bambu pushes the next update anyway) so I can always transfer files to the printer using SD card.
I'm getting closer to having a transmission case and T-Case mount for the current TF2 project ready to print. :D

"Dear Bambu Lab Customer,

I'm sorry for the delayed response.

This might be an issue with your router.

Even if the printer is connected to the wireless network, it might not have access to the internet.

If your computer has a wireless network card, we kindly ask you to enable a hotspot on your computer for the printer to connect to, and then try the firmware update.

Best Regards,

Bambu Lab Customer Support
"

Again, they have provided no instructions.
If the printer is connected to network and yet it doesn't have access to the internet, the problem isn't the router; it's the printer!

Anyway, I've enabled hotspot on my laptop but this is only for 5Ghz and I think printer is 2.4 - see note at the bottom of this screen shot...
hotspot settings.JPG
Nothing happens; the display on the P1S hasn't changed. I've tried switching to lan only mode and restarted the printer but it does nothing. I still cannot update firmware or receive a pin code.

Any suggestions?
Doug

Seems it is only from 1.06+ firmware...

I'm not sure what you have in terms of screen displayed at the moment on the P1S. Maybe worth to post a picture so we can have an idea to help...

Update : the last mention of this page indicates the first versions of the firmware did not have the code... Maybe a pic of the screen on the printer could help them to understand what is the issue (I'm not sure they got it)

Yes, send me your address and I'll find a phone in my collection to send you. It's a 2 minute task once you have a proper device.

Thanks for your help. The info provided in your link mentions bluetooth so I have switched mobile hotspot from wifi to bluetooth but this has had no affect.
I've confirmed that printer is connected to my router - QR's are no longer displayed.
I have been sending Bambu support my printer screens so they will know which version is my firmware. So far, they have ignored my invitation to speak directly via a phone call and they don't seem interested in simply including with their email reply the firmware update file or a link so I can retrieve it from my laptop and update the printer via SD card. Without a file or link, I'm stuck with establishing an internet connection with the printer - which so far isn't working. I'm beginning to think the printer is defective.

So, here is current status; printer screens:

Thank you Jeff, you are very kind.
No need to bother with sending a phone, we'll eventually find the solution.
It's a very tempting offer, however.

@XLR8 , did you download Bambu Studio already, and created an account already?

on the account screen you have the device name. Try to add this device name in Bambu Studio on Device page by click add

If this doesn't work :
On WLAN menu, what happen if you select access code? Is it possible to select access code?

Maybe we are taking the problem from the wrong side... It would eventually make sense to do the binding with an older version of Bambu Studio : I understand the pin code is only supposed to be required when machine is on a different LAN from what I read on the firmware realeases page.

Let me check what Bambu Studio github says about this...

I would suggest to try with a version of Bambu Studio prior to 1.06.00 firmware... Maybe Bambu Studio 1.08.04 for example, that you can find here.
https://github.com/bambulab/BambuStudio/releases/download/v01.08.04.51/Bambu_Studio_win_public-v01.08.04.51-20240117164301.exe

This was prior they added the pin code in the 1.06 firmware. If that don't allow to get in, you may reinstall current version of Bambu studio.

Thank you again,

I've been away for my computer for a few hours - sorry for late reply. Let me attempt to catchup.

First, yes I have Studio version 1.09.07.52 and I believe it pulled my account info from Bambu Lab website (from when I ordered the printer a few weeks ago). Anyway, it shows I'm logged in but I don't recall ever setting up a new account after installing the software.
Bambu Studio home page.jpg
On WLAN, I'm unable to select Access Code - using down arrow key, it skips passed this.

I have uninstalled Studio version 09, rebooted the computer and, using the link you have provided (thanks for that), I have installed version 08. The software has logged me in automatically after installation. On Device tab, My Device name is unselectable.
bambu studio version 08.jpg
Rather than spending more time on this, I think we should wait for Bambu to reply tomorrow to my latest email. If this is successful, I will certainly post an update.

If Bambu's reply isn't helpful, I think I will just move forward using the SD card to transfer files until I can find an Android phone to bind the printer to my Studio account using the Handy app.

Anyway, thanks so much for all your help! I hope to somehow return the favor some day. :D

Did you try to click on the + next to no printer?

I can't help trying to help :-)
