I'm sure they probably did but I don't want blue shocks though, and it's hard to keep up with what's available or discontinued. Not to mention the metric connotations are hard to comprehend, lol.

Traxosho is nearly done......
I spent WAY too much on shocks for this thing!! I knew they were the right lengths, and even though I wanted the Yokomo YZ-2 shocks which were a little cheaper I didn't know if they were exactly the same.
They are huge, way too big.... although.... they work well and fit surprisingly well. It's nice to see it finally sitting under its own weight.
I also made the battery strap but can't bring myself to attempt to drill the large holes in the front plate.

And this is what it will look like when finished .......
Does it need an antenna poking through the body or not?

Re: Kyosho SRT, or is it SRT Outrage?
Electronics wired up and tested. Speed control is a Hobbywing V3.1. When I originally bought it long ago it was listed as a standard V3.1 but when it came it was the waterproof version
The waterproof version has a super short sensor cable epoxied in, external switch and a pigtail fan lead. I was pretty bummed so I put it away to use one day.
Needless to say it was perfect for this truck. I had to lengthen the sensor cable and even with all the extra crap attached to the ESC it came out pretty clean. It's such a smooth ESC.
Bring on the BOOST !

Very cool truck and build. All the parts are executed in a neat manner. I really think all of the hand made parts make the car more meaningful than off the peg items. Looks like it should hook up and be very fast.

Thanks, I'm loving the truck more and more as it progresses. I'd think if it were made of lighter weight materials it would be surprisingly quick on the track with such a low CG.

This is nearly ready to rock and roll. I drilled and mounted the front of the body but I need to make some new rear body mounts as the Associated ones are just a bit too short. Niki had some 10mm extended 10T style mounts on Shapeways, with that going bust it puts a damper on ordering through them.
I also fiddled with the software a bit
I'll probably have to turn it down a bit as it may be a little bit too spicy. I've run more timing with similar set ups before and it's nuts. I've added a total of 45 degrees timing and the Hobbywing has a max of 64 degrees.
Tires are the other thing I'm struggling with, finding a set of onroad tires since I don't want to destroy any of my prolines.

I bet that Frankentruck can make something that'll work.RC10th wrote: ↑Sat Aug 03, 2024 8:15 pm This is nearly ready to rock and roll. Always looking for new and interesting ways to waste money.

Could do something unique for your need. Doesn't need to be from the existing catalog of stuff.

Re: Kyosho SRT, or is it SRT Outrage?
Many many thanks to Frankentruck for sending me some 3D printed rear body mounts for this, they look and fit amazing and I can't thank him enough!!
They aren't the easiest to see in this photo but the finish is fantastic. They are 10mm longer.
Body finally mounted solidly on both ends...
And one upside down for good measure..... it already has some pre-made scratches from the scrap metal pile.
Just a few small details to finish like putting a battery pad on the chassis and a chassis protector, then hopefully the next photos will be action shots
I sooo want to drive it like I'm 10 again but at the same time I don't want to beat it up
Need to try and find a set of onroad tires for it as well.

What a fantastic build. You really did a lot of custom fabrication work. I love the end result. Such a great looking truck. The body is similar to the JRXT in that it's a simple but very nice looking shape. It's a shame that modern stadium truck bodies don't look nearly as good.
Thanks for sharing!

Thanks guys, it was a fun build. A bit more time consuming then I thought but the results were worth it.
