The JJH '85 IFMAR wing has been a bit difficult to figure out too, based on reading past threads, and other auction indicators, such as this Worthpoint.com listed prior auction for a Kimbrough #327 Jay Halsey Wing:

And now I read it was a Yokomo Super Dog Fighter wing:

With Yokomo SDF buttons:

Does everyone use the stock AE wing wire, for either, or both of these options?

Probably have heard from folks but for some reason there's a voice in my head that keeps hearing, "Oh, you want it done right? You have to special order that"

MCI is an excellent service, but I suspect they have so many product offerings that it probably is overwhelming to be accurate with all of it. The motor labels I've gotten from them aren't always as perfect as I'd like but the variety available is impressive.

Seems like an easy enough change to make to the decal sheet, to add those two correctly scaled hood stickers; but that makes two JJH decal makers now that don't have it exactly right.

Wish there was a place like Shapeways for decals, this would be already done and in the mail.

It is the yokomo 834b wing not the super dogfighter and these yokomo wing buttons.

Would you know what wing wire was used?

I'm guessing just stock wing wire but not totally sure.

Going to have to 'lean in', or 'double down', on the Magazine JJH car - for now.

My decals are magazine version, and the Kimbrough #327 wing is definitely the magazine JJH versions.

The stock wing wire doesn't seem like it will work correctly. The Yokomo wing buttons should be here soon, need to figure out the wing wire when they arrive.

Wing buttons won't be here until the end of the week, going to have to stop here until then.

This all landed with a thud on the doorstep today. Some decent AE rear tires in there too.

I'm really glad the seller seemed to favor his gold Pro-Line Tamiya wheel collection, more than he did his chrome collection, he got his moneys worth out of the gold ones. The chrome and black wheels in the collection were like brand new though.

The '85 IFMAR JJH front wheels and tires: NOS Pro-Line 100-F Chrome wheels, and lightly used Pro-Line 1003 Knobby's.

Here's something I've not seen yet on a tribute car, the hex cap screws holding the front wheels together, like the real car.

Callie does a lot of scale work because her specialty is accurate aircraft markings. She won't have an off the shelf Jay Halsey set, but she will make any decal you want. I especially like her "reverse" decals that go on the inside of the lexan.

Going to stick with the magazine decals for the time being, had I known no one makes a 100% accurate '85 IFMAR decal sheet, I would definitely have tried Callie's custom service. Thanks for that!

M2 hex cap screws to hold the 100-F wheels together.

The Yokomo wing buttons will be here tomorrow. Need to figure out the wing wire.

Wheel lots are an addiction. I must have a whole box, but never enough screws or tires to put them together.
