Re: YZ10 rere from Associated
They are available for pre-order with delivery in late August...
I never owned one of these back in the day but I'm feeling the need to add it to the rere shelf.
Who is hitting the pre-order button and are you going to build it, drive it or leave it sealed on the shelf?

Re: YZ10 rere from Associated
I believe that is hot rod hobbies in santa clarita, california. That track alone has extensive history, used to be called fastlane throughout all the 90's, changed owners and name around early 2000's, held big 1/10 off road shootout races and even had the reedy truck race where vanair won the stock class with the 10t. Great facility, I need to find some time to get out there again and run some 1/10 scale.......
Old school racing all the way!

I wish they would space these out a bit. My bank account can’t keep up.

Re: YZ10 rere from Associated
The Reader's Digest version is that AE had all they could handle making RC10s, so they didn't have the capacity to also do a 4WD racer. Their team drivers had to run RC10s in 2WD obviously, but were free to run any 4WD. A lot of them chose Yokomo. Yokomo was in basically the same situation only reverse. Masami being a Yokomo guy probably put the whole thing in motion. AE became the US distributor for Yokomo and the two companies basically raced as one..
Also, at the time, Trinity had the Schumacher US distributorship and Tower had Kyosho, so if AE wanted a wheeler, the Yokomo was the obvious choice.

Also worth mentioning that Team Associated and 'Reedy' motors were whole or in part Yokomo motors just as 'Trinity' early on were Kyosho Le Mans rebrands.1911Colt wrote: ↑Wed Jul 10, 2024 10:56 am The Reader's Digest version is that AE had all they could handle making RC10s, so they didn't have the capacity to also do a 4WD racer.
