just about to post reply asking who would buy this for $20! The target would be guys on this forum among other places, but there's no itch whatsoever to buy this thing for $20.

Don't feel bad.

If I went by that logic, only like three of my cars would even have electronics in them. And none of those are nice ones.

My view is that all of my cars should be ready to run, regardless if I have any intention to do it.

Well I just actually got an email from AE saying that they are pretty much not going to make spare parts for the 40. Sent a link with suggestions. All this after I was trying to put something together and the screwdriver slipped and I ended up putting a hole in the side of the transmission case

Only I could be this stupid.

If you can say that this hobby has mental challenges, that is one of the most difficult for me. Hitting that "PLACE ORDER" button on a couple hundred bucks worth of electronics, that you already own, and are just sitting there in a car that is simply sitting on the shelf.

That definitely is a hole. Do you still have the piece? It could be super glued (CA) back in place and would not cause any gearbox issues.

The piece is somewhere on the floor I can’t find it.

I’m thinking about some CA gel in there might work or some putty that hardens to fill the hole.

They put clear acrylic or lexan in there to prevent dirt from getting in but it would definitely be one more thing to go wrong. For a display it would be awesome!

You could make a piece of material to drop in that area, maybe some old plastic laying around. Wouldn't take much to make it functional. It just wouldn't be necessarily pretty. Honestly even a drop of hot glue or some shoo goo would seal it up good.

Here’s my screw up!

Find a white nylon plug just slightly bigger that the hole, and drill it out to fit the plug. Might look a little better.
