ya, me too. i've seen pics of the damage those can do.

i noticed it thursday night before i went to bed, and it was a red spot about the size of a dime right on the ankle bone. i went to work on friday, and by the time i got home, i couldn't even walk the pain was so intense. the spot that was once the size of a dime was now the size of a golf ball. so, i went to the e.r., they took some x-rays to make sure there wasn't possible a broken bone. the x-rays looked fine so it ruled that out. so, they figured it had to be a bug bite of some sort. i got some antibiotics, they wrapped it up with an ace bandage, gave me some crutches, and sent me on my way.

today, it felt fine. i stayed off of it most of the day. i went to the store with my wife for about 2 hrs or so, and when we got home, it looked like it did in the pic. twice as bad. now they had told me if it got worst, my foot turned a blueish color, started to burn, etc., it needed to be looked at right away. so, i went back to the e.r. again tonight to have it looked at, but they said it was ok. it was just bruising from my shoe rubbing that area on the side of my foot. this was a different e.r. as the night before, and this doc was certain it was a spider bite.

still sucks though.

So will you be changing your name from scr9p to Little Mr. Muffet?

Big critter bites like that suck! Of course, little critter bites suck too if in sufficient quantity. I went to a birthday party a few weeks ago. I was wearing sandals and ended up with 20 bites on my right foot and ankle and 14 on the left foot and ankle! The odd thing is, there weren't that many mosquitoes out and I had no bites anywhere else. It could have been fleas - maybe, but the girlfriend was wearing socks and tennis shoes and didn't get any bites at all (other than the ones I gave her ...

ya, i woke up this morning, and it was even worse. now, i'm starting to get the same thing on my right foot, and up my right leg. i just got back from the emergi-center............ again, and there was a different doc there today. he doesn't think it's a bug/spider bite at all, since it's now in my right foot/leg. he thinks it vasculitis (sp?), an inflammation of the blood vessels. i guess they get little holes poked in them and the blood puddles up under the skin. so they took like 4-5 viles of blood to do some tests. i have to go back on wed. and see what the test results show.

i'm not a big fan of doctors in my old age... i've given serious thought to hiring a consultant dr. of some sort to go along with me to weed all the bs out of the process.

feel better scr8p.

my girl friend and my dad have been bit by a brown recloose and they looked different than that and took about two weeks to stop hurting and they leave some nasty scares. some doctors would think that they were bites others would think infections like merca, doctors don't know crap !!! most of the time
