I hear what you guys are saying and I love the opportunity to get another nice brushed motor, but I'm not convinced it would be a quality brushed motor. The Radon 1 was a motor I refuse to collect and the Radon 2 are ok to beat on, but brushed motor construction is definitely inferior now. But a 40th anniversary 17.5 brushless? hmm.....GreenBar0n wrote: ↑Thu Apr 18, 2024 12:27 pmThe older kit motors having the color coded label, and address from the time of manufacture, was a quality touch. Seems like a missed opportunity to not have a matching 40th motor for this, even sold separately.

Even though I agree with the point you are making, I don't think "No.7, 6th Road" would have the same historical appeal as "Edinger" and "Cadillac".GreenBar0n wrote: ↑Thu Apr 18, 2024 12:27 pmThe older kit motors having the color coded label, and address from the time of manufacture, was a quality touch. If it was serialized that would be fine but might hurt my build one keep one plans.Frankentruck wrote: ↑Thu Apr 18, 2024 12:26 pm In the picture, the foil sticker says 0040 which looks like a serial number, but hard to know for sure. They might all get that number.

Maybe I can stop by when I head to NC this summer to visit my parents. Do they have a store there too?

Yes. https://www.amainhobbies.com/store-locations/i784
I may be wrong there. I thought they did have a store there, but per the site, it is only a distribution center.

I build RCs like people would have done back in the '90s ..................................... if they had 3D printers.

No worries. With that tragic bridge accident in Baltimore I am going to have to get creative driving this year. I could always just make a detourmorrisey0 wrote: ↑Thu Apr 18, 2024 3:51 pmYes. https://www.amainhobbies.com/store-locations/i784

Just a cheap 540 that said 40th Anniversary would've been cool for display purposes. Or including an AE 40th sticker for any motor of choice, for use or display.1911Colt wrote: ↑Thu Apr 18, 2024 2:21 pmEven though I agree with the point you are making, I don't think "No.7, 6th Road" would have the same historical appeal as "Edinger" and "Cadillac".GreenBar0n wrote: ↑Thu Apr 18, 2024 12:27 pmThe older kit motors having the color coded label, and address from the time of manufacture, was a quality touch. I disagree. I wouldn't care if it had a sticker on it, I still hate seeing a POS motor installed in an RC10.GreenBar0n wrote: ↑Thu Apr 18, 2024 4:03 pm Just a cheap 540 that said 40th Anniversary would've been cool for display purposes. Re: RC10 Classic 40th anniversary
This thread is all over the place at this point.
Yes, HH / TH sucks and I go a long way out of my way to avoid them. I used to encourage others to join TH's member program as it really is a deal, but after my last dealing with them with a backorder, and a couple of random easily available items that they shipped two months after I requested they be canceled, nope, done with them for now and hope they get themselves straightened out.
I am glad the 40th edition has bushings. Your call if you want to add bearings. The bushings look a little more authentic to me, because nobody I knew at 10-14 years old went out and bought bearings.
Fine with no motor. Add your touch to it.

Re: RC10 Classic 40th anniversary
Mine's on order. But still I would have preferred an unlimited edition. I'm sick of Limited Editions, I want to run my stuff and not feel bad about it. Probably going to buy a CC chassis and build on that so I can run a fresh RC10 without guilt or scuffing the chassis. At least we got JC Racing and Fan RC making parts if AE decides to not have spares again.
Consistency is the key I keep misplacing.

Re: RC10 Classic 40th anniversary
Should they have worked a little more on the front alignment before taking this picture?
. .
I get that visual effect all the time with phone pictures. The picture isn't representative of the actual buggy.
I noticed with the CC chassis that the top edge around the tub is sorta sharp, not blunt like the older chassis. I'm not a fan of that difference, but it didn't stop me from buying a spare set. Building on a new chassis is nice.

I agree on hoping they are not making it a limited edition.RogueIV wrote: ↑Thu Apr 18, 2024 5:21 pm Mine's on order. But still I would have preferred an unlimited edition. Not sure what motor I'd put in the 40th, if I were going to keep it.
Even though this is just a '96 CE, with a DS motor, I still like having the motor for display purposes.Frankentruck wrote: ↑Thu Apr 18, 2024 4:34 pmI disagree. I'm reedy to pick out a nice appropriate motor for mine.

Sure I'd like them to include a motor, as long as it isn't a POS motor. I don't want a free motor if I'm going to hate it.

Re: RC10 Classic 40th anniversary
That's a nice collection you have there. I have no electric motors laying around besides a newer Kyosho, so I would take the free POS motor all day long. If it said AE on it, or 40th, someone would buy it at the very least.Frankentruck wrote: ↑Thu Apr 18, 2024 6:06 pm
