Yup, yesterday from AE and today from Amain. Building one keeping one boxed.

How are you guys ordering from AMain? Says sold out.
I pre-ordered from AE, and just read the fine print.

You're not lying. Sometimes it's tough to get a body in the box too.

It looks like they have sold out of their allotment. I would give them a call tomorrow. They actually answer the phone and are actually helpful unlike the Horizon Conglomerate.GreenBar0n wrote: ↑Tue Apr 16, 2024 7:14 pm How are you guys ordering from AMain? Says sold out.

AND, no bearings. The kit includes bushings -- like a Tamiya.GreenBar0n wrote: ↑Tue Apr 16, 2024 7:14 pm How are you guys ordering from AMain? Says sold out.

Well, at least they're not plastic bushings.

Re: RC10 Classic 40th anniversary
I’m. A bit split. Sitting on a shelf the brass bushings looks pretty awesome. However for the price bearings would be a nice inclusion.
They should at least offer a pre painted box art body. They would sell a few. They could make them limited edition as well, signed and numbered.

Re: RC10 Classic 40th anniversary
I would be willing to bet that it costs as much or more for them to include the oilite bushings. It's original, only one of the kits, the 6016, came with bearings bitd and it was a steep price difference. I personally like it as a reminder of where we came from.

Re: RC10 Classic 40th anniversary
That's what's got me spoiled, every Tamiya kit I've built in the last month came with at least the motor and pinion, and some of them full bearings, for much less than the 40 kit.
It really seems as though they don't expect anyone to actually run these 40's, like the Clear Classic.
Does anyone know if the plastic is going to be like the original, meaning not brittle and recommended not to run like the CC is?
Also, are the bearings different sizes between the 6-gear and Stealth?

Re: RC10 Classic 40th anniversary
I remember AE stating they would not be offering CC parts separately. I assumed they meant "clear" parts since chassis, nose, motor plates, tires (maybe something else) were offered up. I wonder if they have changed their stance with the 40th gold pan kit.

Re: RC10 Classic 40th anniversary
Tower Hobbies has the pre-order now too. Their description sounds as if a paper assembly manual is not included.

Re: RC10 Classic 40th anniversary
I read that and my first thought was that they were not including it but I have convinced myself they are doing that for another reason- collectors don't want to open the box. This way they can see the manual without cracking the seal. I could well be wrong, but to not have a manual included would be very weird.
And please, don't preorder from Tower or Horizon. It will end in failure. Trust me.

Not a bad speculation about the manual, however the cynic in me just thinks this is yet another cost savings measureGoMachV wrote: ↑Wed Apr 17, 2024 12:51 pm I read that and my first thought was that they were not including it but I have convinced myself they are doing that for another reason- collectors don't want to open the box. And yes, +1 for please, please, please, please, do NOT preorder from Tower/Horizon. I've had now five "pre-orders" end in utter failure.
Also, for whatever reason Tower cannot even properly charge you for a sale. My last three orders were charged to my credit card differently than they were ordered. I suspect this is due to them displaying an "Estimated Sales Tax" at check out now versus the way they used to do it.
Add to that a website that is borderline unusably slow, non-existent customer service...
Wait, this isn't a Horizon/Tower hate thread, I'll stop now
