The KO Propo EX-1, originally released in 1989 and imported into the US by Global Hobby Distributors operated on 27MHz and 75MHz AM frequencies using interchangeable modules and featured steering end-point adjustments, a steering dual-rate thumb wheel, exponential throttle, steering and throttle-trim levers, sub-trim pots, brake adjustment, and servo reversing switches for both channels.
The EX-1 could be had in a Standard Version which included two PS-301 H ball-bearing servos, a KR-285A mini- receiver and a BEC switch harness. An Off-Road system included a PS-303 FET high-speed servo, a CX-4 electronic speed control, an a KR-285A mini- receiver. And an On-Road with a PS-901 BH ball-bearing miniservo, a CX-4 electronic speed control with heat sink, and a KR-285A mini-receiver.
In 1991 the EX-1 was updated with an FM band frequency module and KR-291F receiver, PS-1001 FET servo and inlaid pistol grips that were available in a number of colors.
