Tyco and Nikko collection
Hello,
I have a collection of Tycos and Nikkos. I have accounts on most major RC sites but no one seems to care about Tycos and Nikkos.
I collect only Tyco and Nikko cars because they were fast and interesting grade of RC model which I had when a kid. I have a few
interesting Tyco restore threads incoming.
I have a Tyco 9.6V Hijacker, 9.6V Devastator, 9.6V Scorcher, 9.6V Fast Traxx, 9.6V Bandit. I also have a 7.2V Super Rebound.
I have a Taiyo 9.6V 4WD Jet Racer ( Tyco Super hopper ), Taiyo 9.6V Blaster.
Currently have 2 Nikkos, Nikko Hurricane ( toy grade/hobby grade cross ), and a Nikko 9.6V Jumping car.
I do like Tamiyas of old but I don't own any now as I sold them a few years ago. I am looking to buy a Tamiya Boomerang though.

Welcome to the site. I'm interested to see the restore threads.EmperorTomaso wrote: ↑Sat Nov 11, 2023 7:59 am Hello,

Re: Tyco and Nikko collection
I think it's safe to say everyone here cut their teeth on Tyco and Nikko when they were kids and each of us probably has a favorite or two that we had or really really wanted. I always viewed Tyco as being sold at toy stores and Nikko being sold at electronics stores but it's cool you've got a collection of both. I have a few of each floating around, reminders of days gone by. And since there's already a Nikko/Tyco section here you're sure to find some Ty-Ni love. Awesome first post. Welcome!

Welcome! Those brands were great for being an introduction to R/C along with Radio Shack and Sears vehicles. I remember the Turbo Hopper commercials and always wanted the Fast Traxx. I was almost ready to collect & restore them a few years ago but decided to make a fast Kyosho Blizzard instead.

Thank you for the replies. I'll post pictures of all my cars soon in the vintage section.

Re: Tyco and Nikko collection
We definitely have an interest in Tyco and Nikko among others. Mainly those from the '80s and '90s. Maybe you've already seen it but there's even a dedicated forum just for them: https://www.rc10talk.com/viewforum.php?f=136

That's the creepiest R/C picture I've ever seen...
... Who knew Zuul the Gatekeeper was into Tyco's.
