Losi Proformance New Built
First, no comments are Scr8p, Asso_man, or aconsola.
Figured I should also have a new built Proformance kit as well. I don't think the Pro Spur gear was included in the kit, but it goes perfect with the wild fire 5 spokes. From the looks of the box, it looks to me like the wheels were the standard orange five spokes. Also, I don't have any more of the thin spring retainers, so opted for the later revised grey thick retainer. I will have to use one of my Pro bodies for this one that is tucked away in storage.

Re: Losi Proformance New Built
nice car. I'll leave the nit-picking to the period police since I was cut-off at the first post
I'd like to see a picture of the bottom, did you line up all your screw heads this time?

Since the pro-formance kit was an upgrade to the x-2, prior to the release of the jrx-pro complete kit, I would think therefore that the motor plate should more appropriately be a jrx-2 logo plate, as I beleive that the x-2 did not come with the "TLP" plate. Similarly the battery box would likely be more correct as the older style closed box.
The turnbuckles on the early cars were all the type with the centered, larger hex. I don't know what car, if any, the rods with the small off-center hexes came on, but I do know that they share the same part# as the original style ones as I have been trying to accumulate a complete set of the old style ones and keep ending up with pairs of the offset. My jrx-pro and pro-se boxes both picture the centered hex turnbuckles just like the original x-2. I personally dislike building up the ones you have on the car as the hexes seem to slip/strip easily even with the apropriate size wrench.
You are also missing the Jr's choice motor. according to the box it is a "bonus for jrx-2 owners purchasing this kit," as if anyone else would purchase an upgrade kit for a jrx-2
Don't forget the cap on the antenna mount.
If there is someone with a copy of the upgrade kit instructions, please post them.

Nice car Jay. Period correct minutia aside.
What was the evolution of this build? Was it all NIP, or did it start as a rebuild?

Re: Losi Proformance New Built
I hear you on all that you mentioned. Everything you mentioned was a conscious decision, as I am basically out of parts and am just using what I have. Maybe over time I can get the right stuff. I do have the motor, just not in the car.
Just built from parts I had lying around or NIP.

for "Just built from parts I had lying around or NIP," it came out realy nice. When I do that it usually ends up looking like a cleaned up used car, yours looks like you broke the seal and built up a new kit.

Re: Losi Proformance New Built
Very nice build. Let me know if you need a copy of the Proformance manual...I have a copy, but I have the original somewhere.
You may want to check your spare parts to see if you have any rear purple springs laying around. I still have the Proformance box but I can kick myself for taking the Jr's Chocie label off my motor
I built my car (back when it was new) with the red spokes because I just didn't like the other options. Everyone else was using the proline dish wheels because of their bad experiences with the original orange wheels.
Regards,
highwayracer
