RC10 based dirt oval car thread.

Back when my son started racing dirt oval he began with a stock B4. First race night out he hit a pole and snapped the chassis. So I built him this monstrosity out of old parts that were recovers from a fire. He raced this heavy beast and was finishing top 3 every week but just couldn't pull off a win. I blame it on the weight. This car was nearly twice the weight as all the other cars on the track. I had just finished a newer build because of the limitations this car had but his last night of running this car the track owners announced that was the last day and they were closing up. Anyway here it is. Please understand this was built with all recovered junk parts and was built to hold up. She aint pretty but on the track she was a beast.

I am bumping this thread, after a couple of minutes, because I too am looking for inspiration. I bought and paid for a Kranzel about a month ago, but the seller decided he wanted the car and my money, so had to go through that fight. While waiting for it, I got excited about it and really wanted to get into some oval racing. When the deal went south, I shelfed the idea. But this weekend I visited a semi-local guy that closed up a hobby shop quite a few years ago, and while negotiating my pile of stuff, I noticed this chassis off to the side. Got it thrown into the deal for pretty darn cheap. I think I can make a oval car out of it, so I am looking for ideas.

Cool chassis. A McAllister lowering kit, Houge bellcrank, short shocks, and TPS Chain drive or JCar tranny would be a good start.

If you're looking to race it then check the rules at your track. Some places don't allow offset batteries in certain classes.

Ya the track we ran at only allowed a stock chassis. no aftermarket chassis were allowed in the street stock class. now they were allowed in one of the other classes though.

Oh, I mean just for fun racing / running. There isn't any official RC racing of any type anywhere near me unfortunately.
