Optima Re Re knuckles on a ZX-R?
Starting to think about how i'm going to rebuild the two Lazer ZX-R's and am wondering if these knuckles off the Re Release Optima will fit on a Lazer ZX-R, or if they're sized differently for the Optima Re Re's bushings. Any other Optima Re Re parts, such as the hinge pins?

They are the same dimensions but I believe they swapped the lettering L and R. I’d have to double check but I recall that from when the optima rere came out.

You don't happen to know if the Optime Re-Re's gear diffs fit. Do you?
I saw I could get a new bumper for a lot less than I paid on Shapeways for a reproduction.

No, rere diffs diffs larger outdrive bearings. I want to say it’s a 10x15 where original was 8x14. You can’t get a 10x14 bearing so it’s a no go

Re: Optima Re Re knuckles on a ZX-R?
At first I thought one of my recently acquired Lazer ZX-R's was a mk2 because it didn't have the funky front-upper rod end, but now I'm thinking a previous owner drilled some holes in the uprights as a mod. Is that what it looks like to anyone else?

That looks correct for mk2, so does the front shock tower and chassis with 6 battery slots.

Re: Optima Re Re knuckles on a ZX-R?
Are these caster blocks in any way similar to those of a ZX-s or ZX-5? I actually got a set of drmosfet's ZX-S reproductions out of curiosity when I ordered a couple of other parts I needed.BattleTrak wrote: ↑Wed Jul 13, 2022 8:18 am That looks correct for mk2, so does the front shock tower and chassis with 6 battery slots.

Re: Optima Re Re knuckles on a ZX-R?
ZX-5 suspension is very different and the parts really aren't interchangeable with the older cars. The arms are much narrower Also, there are different models for the arms and c-hubs, and they can't be mixed and matched and usually require changing the universals due to length differences.HS-YZ250 wrote: ↑Wed Jul 13, 2022 3:01 pmAre these caster blocks in any way similar to those of a ZX-s or ZX-5? At most you could maybe use the rear hubs, but you might need to use different universals because the offset is different compared to Lazer ZX(-R) rear hubs.
