Did all the t2 chassis share the 7301 part number?
Hello all,
I don't have a problem, just a question on vintage associated part numbers.
I just picked up a nice condition t2 chassis off ebay and noticed that it has the 2 holes drilled for the mechanical speed controller. The other t2's i have do not have the holes drilled for the MSC. I am assuming that the other 2 were 7036/7036 kits at one point and my new one is a 7012.
Looking at the t2 catalog http://oldrc.com/AssociatedFiles/cat_10t2.pdfI only see a part number 7301 and the illustration does not show the MSC mounting holes as it does in the assembly manual com/pdf/cars_and_trucks/RC10T2/Team/10t2_manual.pdf,page 42.
Was the same part number used for both drilling patterns? Was the sport chassis not available for sale outside of the kit? Was there more than 2 variations?

I'm pretty sure all T2 chassis shared the same part number and it was a running change.
I always wondered if the GT receiver mount would fit those holes, dunno why I've never tried it.

What would the advantage be to that? Just wrapping up the antenna as opposed to putting a hole in the body?

No real advantage, just you'd be able to remove the receiver and antenna/mount as one with two screws...... that is provided it fits.

At a point in time not too long ago, somehow I ended up accumulating 3 spare T2 chassis. Oddly enough none of them have the extra holes like the later one. My complete T2 does.
I’m assuming there are fewer with the holes out there then without.Who do you race for ?
Me……. I race for me.
That’s impossible, I was told you need a sponsor to race.
Hey Cru ! Go balls out

Going from memory… the 7011 sport truck was being sold as the entry level kit still when the T2 arrived in Team only form. Pretty sure it was towards the end of the T2 when the sport came out and took over entry level. Again, this is just from memory but I was working in the largest hobby shop in Oregon at the time too.

That would make sense with the t2 armed rc10t sport existing. I'd imagine the t2 sport was still selling when the t3 team truck came out as well.GoMachV wrote: ↑Wed Jan 05, 2022 6:21 pm Going from memory… the 7011 sport truck was being sold as the entry level kit still when the T2 arrived in Team only form.
