Some 1/5 scale dusty donuts

Post by Steve71 »

Weather is finally nice today so got the custom 1/5 scale out for a run. Gotta love how much dust this big ol' 50lb truck kicks up. I looked like I had walked a mile through the desert by the time I got done running it
Think I finally have just about all the little bugs worked out now. Got about a dozen runs on it since finishing the build late winter and been chasing down little bugs here & there every run. The other day I addressed a pinion that kept coming lose by shimming the motor .030 to make sure it was parallel to the spur gear. And also has issues with cvd pins coming loose (even with loc tight) so covered the hub of the cvd's with 1/2' of heat shrink and that seems to have fixed that problem.
Had a full run this afternoon with no broken or loose parts....as Martha Stewart would say...That's a good thing!

That looks like a whole heap of fun , i just wonder how long it takes to clean all the dust off it
If a jobs not worth doing then its certainly not worth doing well.

Quite a while for sure. With my OCD I hate to leave the truck dirty so it always gets somewhat stripped down and polished back up after a run which usually takes a full day
