Re: My racing days Hotshot replica hopefully
I think Dinglem would win , mine is not really vintage only a recreation but we should still do it .
If a jobs not worth doing then its certainly not worth doing well.

Re: My racing days Hotshot replica hopefully
Got started on fitting steering servo , decided that while waiting for the real chassis i can start drilling holes in the prototype to check fit , I'm thinking this position is quite space efficient .

I used the kit servo saver parts to make up a raised more central steering position much like the period mod using half an AE RC10 servo saver , i 3d printed a fixed joiner to connect the two pieces where the plastic C spring for the servo saver would be .

This steering system virtually eliminates bump steer , there is a little below the droop but above droop the steering is unaffected.

Re: My racing days Hotshot replica hopefully
Just checked up on the tracking for the chassis , still 4-5 days
but its now in the country at least . The front shocks seem to be lost in the post , the seller is one I've used before and its not his fault , still its holding things up .

Re: My racing days Hotshot replica hopefully
When I first had the Hotshot stock chassis I quickly got fed up with having to pull out two body pins to open the battery plate underneath when changing the battery , I noticed that if I removed 1 screw from the battery end stops I could simply lift it off the post and rotate it out of the way to change battery's then just move it back and hook it back over the post without putting the screw back . When I went to Fibreglass chassis you lost these battery end stops and had to use cable ties , I never liked the cable ties so I've made up Brackets to reuse the original end stops , I also added body mounts .

Re: My racing days Hotshot replica hopefully
I just went back in time 36 years

Jeff made the chassis in two thicknesses (thank you
) so we could compare the rigidity and handling quality , the thinner is 1.6 mm and the thicker is 2.4 mm , I've fitted the thinner one first and it feels so familiar ( its quite weird ) in rigidity to what I remember , eventually I'll probably fit the thicker one as this is likely to be given a fairly hard life

Re: My racing days Hotshot replica hopefully
The body is from Penguin and is designed for the TMS chassis , I'm not sure who made it originally but it should fit most of the similar chassis types or even the stock chassis .

Re: My racing days Hotshot replica hopefully
Finished the install and for one of mine it turned out quite tidy
, also designed some wing mounts , still waiting one one shock body and I really am going to have to decide on a paint job too .
