My NIB XXT from my electric racing days in 1994

Post by one »

In 1994 I bought and built a top of the line setup and this is the recreation of it...... minus the Trinity 1700 SCRC World Tech Racing cells. :)

I was fortunate enough to bide my time (almost 8 months total) to wait for each item to come out of the wood work NIB. :)

Nice! I like this very much :)

I've got a NIB Losi XX kit & a whole bunch of upgrade parts to build a re-creation of my old race car from the 90s too.... these were a great series of off road cars & i'm not suprised other people like yourself hanker to re-own what they mistakenly sold Bitd aswell.

I've got the quandry in that i've brought upgrade parts for mine that although I would have loved - just couldn't afford back then... so do I build a faithfull re-creation or build it including the extras?

You build it the way it was, enjoy it. ...........leave it be for a while.... then upgrade it as you would have :) It's a transition.

Losi sold the design to Duratrax and is now the Evader XT. If someone needs parts most of the new Evader parts are identical.
The Fox, Falcon, 9 RC10s black/gold/graph, Optima Mid SE EXT, Losi XXXT, B3, B4, 3 T4s, Evader BX, Evader ST, Buggy Champ '09, Sand Scorcher '10, RC10T, RC10DS

Sounds like a plan :)

Just got to wait for a rainy day in which to build it (& a nice warm day to paint the shell) There's plenty more projects to come first

Good to know parts could still be available .... just with Duratrax header cards - though I doubt the quality is as good as original Losi parts?

P.S; @ One, are all the electrics (inc the Trinity KW motor) from NIP too? Looks like it would have been quite a formidable beast on the track especially with World Tech SCRCs (still got an old pack of mine) What wind is the motor?..... I had the 15 triple version in my XX Bitd - was my favourite, not mega quick, just dependable - i'd love to find one to complete my build.

Yes they were all new. :) The motor is the one I ran which is a 9 turn triple wet. It was a stupid amount of power and that's why I loved it so much. :)

You should show a picture of those world tech cells. I haven't seen them in many years. :)

Wow I bet that 9 turn did go like stink!!... 11s & twelves were my winds of choice BITD.

You can just about make out my World Tech cells nestling in the chassis of my XXX - both those & the LRP speedo were from my old XX.

Image

If I remember correctly I had two packs of World-Tech & a pack of Race-Tech (green lable) The World Tech cells were actually technically illegal for BRCA (British Radio Car Association) as the RRP was more than the price limit that they capped elligable cells to, which was somewhat unfair being that top team drivers would get selected cells that would be way better than what we could buy :|

Those are a beauty! It's a shame I'll never see them again. Wish I had a set to stick in this truck and complete the build. Oh well, I'll just have to use black sanyo cells and it'l be close I guess........
