RC10T...what are the non-original parts?
Hi everyone, this is my RC10T, I wanted to know what are the non original parts of this car, I see for example the black arms, maybe it was some update ... I don't know. Help me remember.
Thanks

Nice RC10T
I am not a Truck expert, but this may have some non original RC10T parts?
Stealth Shocks, but running Dog bones. Was it a Team Truck?
Parts I question;
Front Axle carriers
Rear Bulkhead
Shocks
Dog bones
I will let the RC10T experts chime in

Re: RC10T...what are the non-original parts?
It depends on which iteration of the original RC10T you are talking about. The black colored front and rear arms, and the black colored ball cups are the main differences from the first iteration. I believe these came on later versions of the RC10T, and were one of the final changes before the RC10T2 came out.
If you want to replace these items for white parts, it would give the truck a more traditional look. However it looks great as is too.
Nice truck!

Re: RC10T...what are the non-original parts?
Let me explain...It is an RC10T bought some time ago...
I don't know exactly which "mold" it is but I have the manual and from that I deduce that the parts such as the arms should be white and not black.
Other parts are also black, such as the "ball cups # 6274". I also don't know the bodywork is original or some reissues. In short, what I wanted to know is if the black parts are part of one of the latest versions before the release of the RC10T2 on the market (so it came out of the box) or are they optional that you bought separately or of some other model. I am attaching other photos of the manual and tires...

Re: RC10T...what are the non-original parts?
The dogbones makes me think that its a sport model, but I believe that they came with gold shocks. The black parts and carriers just look like a later production version.
My thoughts:
Maybe the original universals were damaged and replaced with axles and dogbones. Given availability, easily understandable.
Perhaps it was a sport model and a previous owner "upgraded" to Teflon coated bodies on the shocks. The Teflon bodies did get a lot of hype and it would have been an easy change.
Perhaps Associated just used what was available that day. Not unheard of, especially on later production runs.

Re: RC10T...what are the non-original parts?
Dog bones and three piece wheels did come on the original 10T race truck before there was a Team and sport model. It would have come with the “thin non webbed white arms”. If there’s bushings in the trans there’s a potential it was a mid run sport truck with some team shocks. I also believe the towers were different slightly through the years but can’t remember the details there.

Not that it matters but the original decals on my team truck clearly say "Team Truck" in several locations.

Hi - totally new to this forum and hope this is the right place to ask. I'm restoring my RC10T2 and am missing one part that I cannot locate anywhere; the gear dust cover (part 7372). Does anyone happen to have the dimensions handy as I would like to 3D print a cover for it in the absence of finding an original. thanks in advance

If you are in the US, I've got one that you can have. Just cover the shipping. I got it in a parts lot and have no use for it.

sorry, but why don't you find yourself with the dogbones?romulus22 wrote: ↑Mon Nov 16, 2020 4:48 pm Dog bones and three piece wheels did come on the original 10T race truck before there was a Team and sport model. It should be original looking at the photo, code 7361 with the internal spring.
The wheels also look the same as those on the manual. Sending photos

Re: RC10T...what are the non-original parts?
Correct, the original truck included dog bones. When they offered the truck as a Team tuck and a Sports truck. The team version got the upgraded universals.
The difference being if your truck was the slightly later team version it should have universals and 1pc wheels. You either have a sports truck with bushings someone put team shocks on. Or an early “RC10T” with later model arms and ball cups.

Re: RC10T...what are the non-original parts?
I was leaning towards early Truck, But I don't think so.
Looks like a centered Battery cup, need to know if it is a B or a C chassis.
Probably a C with the non countersunk 6 Gear holes.
A late Sport Truck with Upgraded shocks?

Re: RC10T...what are the non-original parts?
I don't think the OP is fully understanding there are variations between what is shown in the manual (which itself isn't totally consistent) and what came on the truck.
There is no singularly correct way to build a stock original RC10T.

Re: RC10T...what are the non-original parts?
If you ask me, it was a bunch of random parts thrown together to build a 10t.

Re: RC10T...what are the non-original parts?
It's all RC10T. There are just a couple of mixed early/late generation parts on it. You have a nice truck.
