The Associated DR10 street eliminator
Picked up a DR10 and as many already know- the stock 3300kv system is weak sauce. I had a couple motors to play with but nothing crazy. Hottest was a 7.5t Track Star. I didn’t think it would be enough so I ordered a cheap 3.5t Surpass to play with as well. Running a Gens Ace 2s 130c shorty and a mamba x speed control. Also a Rhouse cap pack and a few hop ups such as the alloy rear arm mounts so I can use the pills to play with the geometry. Painted up a jconcepts 66 Nova baby blue so we don’t look like all the other rtr bodies. Added a “wings that work” wing, really well built (but not shown)
There was a no prep cash days tonight, $20 buy in- we got 41 entries. 80/20 split meant the winner took home $650. A friend of mine was up from Colorado and has way more driving experience so I put him behind the wheel. In testing that little 3.5t ended up not making the power we hoped for so we geared the 7.5t to the moon and let her fly.
First pass went well. Straight as an arrow which is good as the front tires do very little when they aren’t touching lol.
Second round we were up against a faster car and, well, once she started heading right it was over. Fronts are off the ground and setting her down would have been a sure loss.
Still, we had a killer night and I will definitely be back for the next race. The no prep scene is getting huge all over the nation- worth checking out an event for sure!

That’s great bud it’s fun and extremely challenging, we keep losing indoor outdoor off-road tracks this is all we’re gonna have left can’t take the streets from us and the streets don’t file for bankruptcy;)

Racing is racing - it's all good.
I'm just very grateful that COVID-related cases are declining almost everywhere and that safety protocols can be relaxed to allow this kind of event to resume.
We're not completely over this yet but it's been a long difficult time for everyone and life is slowly returning to normal.

We must have had a good 200 people there and a mostly full parking lot- spaced appropriately for the most part. Everyone was respecting space well and we were visited by a cop but I think he was just checking out the action to be honest. Never got out just watched a couple passes. I’m ready for this pandemic to be over

Re: The Associated DR10 street eliminator
Right on, our event was a blast and I can’t wait for the next one. I need to get back to the Traxxas side as those are my main group I support but I’m going to keep the DR10 as a loaner when we have a odd number in the field. I hate seeing bye rounds lol.
This is the street eliminator chassis we sell but It’s sitting on the wrong tires and wheels. Most of the group locally runs our chassis so for me to bring out a DR10 doesn’t look good
