Anyone know this esc?

Post by Dr1rrrr »

I bought this esc on eBay to use for a vintage boat build and I'm trying to find how many amps it's rated for. I've found one person on another site said that it could handle 12cells that's all I know about it. On the sticker it says zeta model zb-1a and it says product design inc. as a manufacturer. I have a pretty fast collection of vintage rc boat modeler catalogues and this esc is nowhere in them so any info would be helpful.

PDI is the manufacturer. Those were the baddest of the bad speed controllers of the time, very capable. They made the Marine one as well as a few others. One was for truck pullers. You can probably dig through the rcca archives to see if they ever did a bench test on them.

Oh that's good to hear I'm going to be running a large plettenberg motor on it so I guess it might be up to the task.
