Re: Vintage Dumas Hotshot Sprint resto
Scored a vintage jackplate off ebay to replace my homemade mount. This will allow the engine to me moved up or down and trim to the the prop just right.
Bought some Torco 50%nitro/18%oil and idled 3 or 4 tanks thru it at 140 degrees. Tried to put a video on but dont know how

Re: Vintage Dumas Hotshot Sprint resto
If they are the stock props throw them as farrrr as you can!!!
Try an octura x437 -x440 3 blade or a octura x440 - x442 2 blade
Prop height should be around 1/8'' to 3/16'' above the bottom of the sponsons
an just a tick of negative angle.
You might look into intlwaters community forum for more on nitro rc boats.

Now i know what Marty meant!marty slater wrote: ↑Mon Jan 13, 2020 5:40 pm If they are the stock props throw them as farrrr as you can!!!
It ran fine, never stalled but prop wouldn't grab water other than idling. I ordered an Octura 437 like he recommended.

Re: Vintage Dumas Hotshot Sprint resto
That prop is on the smaller size run it a little deeper then a 440.
A 442 run pretty high. you might look into international waters its a nitro boat site.
Good luck with it.
