Re: The Weird Re-release Scorpion
I agree it's interesting, but the body isn't doing it for me...it just seems rather bulky and squarish compared to the original...plus, nobody's expecting a Scorp without a partial rollcage.

Re: The Weird Re-release Scorpion
Naeh, I just thought it would be a quick way to fame and fortune.
It's a MIDI LWB mid body from TBG. Initially bought 3 to put on some LWB MIDs, but when I was done fitting and painting the first one, it went to the trash.
Doesn't look good on the MID and it doesn't look good on the Scorpion.

Re: The Weird Re-release Scorpion
I think it might look a little better if it sat back maybe 10 to 15 mm - if that's even possible.
It's not ugly but perhaps it just sits a little too far forward.
I definitely would not throw it in the trash. It just needs a few adjustments.
Sorta like one of Mozart's early symphonies.

Re: The Weird Re-release Scorpion
Okay, I´ll cut a few notes then
Moving it backwards as You say would have done the trick, but the body is too narrow up front for that. I could have cut the tub down, but that was not a part of the initial plan. Of the Scorpions I have, there´s only three builds based on the tub. I was hoping for a fourth.

Re: The Weird Re-release Scorpion
Kind of looks like the Dyna Scorpion , works for me actually

If a jobs not worth doing then its certainly not worth doing well.

Re: The Weird Re-release Scorpion
Of course, it could be that I've seen too many RC's today. After all, there are only so many RC's that the human eye can observe in the course of a day - I think I'm right in saying that, aren't I?DennisM wrote: ↑Wed Jan 01, 2020 3:39 am Okay, I´ll cut a few notes then![]()

Okay, enough with the Amadeus references....

Understand the desire for a fourth Scorpion iteration but could the body be moved back if it were fitted to a Tomahawk? Same as Scorpion except with a chassis plate and not a tub. Anyway, just tossing that out there for what it's worth.

I´ll give it a thought, Doug
Right now I´m on Dadio´s side, I´ll just say that I was inspired by the Dyna Scorpion....3,5 decades too late

Re: The Weird Re-release Scorpion
Thanks
That´s an AYK Bobcat repro body from TBG - It didn´t fit over the roll bar on the Bobcat, so it went on a Scorpion instead

Love the roll cage one. What wheels did you use on the green (tomahawk) and blue (bobcat) one?

Re: The Weird Re-release Scorpion
Thanks

The rear wheels on the Bobcat build would be proline, or some other 3rd party company, for RC10. The fronts would be same heritage for Tamiya 2wd (Fox, Wild One etc.)
The Green one uses RPM revolver on the back, front ones would be similar to the above mentioned ones for Tamiya.

Re: The Weird Re-release Scorpion
I've just been having a closer look at the 6 cars pictured and noticed the 4th one in the yellow and gold body has a unique front end , I don't want to derail this thread but I'd love to see more of it , do you have a build thread you could link or just more pictures of it ?
If a jobs not worth doing then its certainly not worth doing well.
