Re: Help needed - RC10 Box Art Replica
Question regarding rear bulkhead ball stud installation. The Great Planes ball stud is 0.240 in and the bulkhead mount .204 in, leaving insufficient threads for the nut. Also, the box art photo does not use a nut on the bulkhead or the caster block.
Do I find a longer ball stud, machine the bulkhead, or glue the stud in place?
I noticed the front caster blocks were filed thinner, which allows a nut to be used, but again box art does not use a nut here.
Thanks

McMaster sells some 2-56 helicoil? Might be able to keep from drilling through so the material doesn’t show the helicoil for aesthetics
Edit- better yet they also have expanding inserts for 2-56.

That’s a great idea Jeff, I will order some. I’m experimenting with “kragle” and will test the pull strength tomorrow.

Re: Help needed - RC10 Box Art Replica
I tested crazy glue (kragle) on an old rear hub, placing securely in a vise, and then applying force with my fish scale. The 2-56 ball stud withstood 15 pounds of side force. When I approached 20 pounds, the plastic hub started to bend and then the ball stud worked loose. I believe the failure was due to the deformation of the hub. Either way, crazy glue provided more than enough adhesion for this application. I recommend this simple method to match the box art installation of the 2-56 ball studs without the need of a nut.

Re: Help needed - RC10 Box Art Replica
Wanted to double check futaba to airtronic plug conversion. It’s been a while, and I’m also not 100% positive on the plug orientation in the receiver.
1) Swap the Ground/Black and Positive/Red wires
2) insert plug with the white signal wire facing outward on the receiver (matches airtronics grey wire)
Thanks limestang

Can anyone share a clean image of the Sanyo white Battery sticker? I believe it's like the one below.
Thanks limestone
