New Electronics in XX4

Post by Top_Billing »

Not really specific to Losi, but I'm having trouble with the modern electronics in my XX4. When I punch the throttle, there's about half second delay before I get full power. To be clear, the motor starts immediately when I punch it, but it's no where close to full throttle. After the half-second, it jumps up to full speed. Running Hobbywing 17.5T motor and ESC. Checked sensor cable and it seems fine. Also, checked punch control setting in ESC and that's not it. Any ideas?

Sounds like a Soft-Start programmed in the ESC ? Often used for aircraft folding props.

My first thought goes to the battery. Is it a pack capable of producing the necessary power and is it fully charged and all connections good? As mentioned, I would also check the ESC programming and radio settings. I've had a couple bad sensor cables over the years, so maybe try another one. If the motor and ESC are new, there's always that chance that something is defective. If you have another motor, try it. Then try another ESC. Of course, this is all assuming that the issue is electronic and that the diffs and slipper are properly adjusted and that the belts are in good condition, etc.

Thanks, guys. It was the sensor cable.
