Bruiser wheel fitment ?

By chance does anyone know if it's possible to adapt Bruiser wheels (the re-re ones shown in the photo below) to the 12mm hex drives on a RC4WD Trail Finder 2? After seeing this truck posted on ebay, I really want to lift my TF2 and install this wheel/tire combo. Also, if you happen to have a Bruiser (or Mountaineer), could you please measure the track width (i.e. the distance between the center mold parting lines in the tires)? Front and rear please - I think they are different.

is this being sold as a rere bruiser? Because it loooks like an HG-P407 to me. I've seen the adapters to install 12mm hex wheels on a bruiser but not the other way around. If you look at the cost of those adapters, it might be better to find some 12mm hex mount wheels that are similar.

Bruisers do have a wider rear track than front. I dont have the exact dimensions handy though. I also have not seem adaptors to mount bruiser wheel adaptors, but you might be able to get a bruiser hub to fit onto a TF2 axle with some luck and/or modification

It was definitely described as an HG-P407 not a Bruiser(it's sold btw).
Yeah, the Bruiser wheels are cheap (~$12 for all four) but the adapters needed to make them fit 12mm hex could be expensive - if such a thing even exists.
I like the Bruiser wheels (I'm an old dinosaur who still likes chrome plated parts on my vehicles ). There are plenty of 2.2" 12mm hex metal wheels that look nice as well. I'm just not interested in spending $100 or more for them.
If I'll need to make adapters, I'm considering using the stock Tamiya hub ($9/set on ebay) and replacing the large bearing with a machined aluminum plug drilled to fit the axle and with a cross-pin slot. I could either epoxy the plug into the hub or I think there is enough space behind the wheel flange to pin or grub screw the plug in place.

Look at G-Made wheels. Not sure if they have exactly what you're looking for, but their wheels are reasonably priced and I've found them to be very good quality. I bought a set of chromed plastic 3 piece truck wheels for my Optima truck build and was very happy with them. iirc they were under $30

If reasonably priced aluminum wheels are an option, this is what I got for my bruiser-ish truck. Most crawler wheels are much narrower than a bruiser type wheel, but these are about the same.

If you aren't fixated on 1.9 wheels, I used some 2.2 RPM revolvers in the past...very similar look and stretched the stock tires onto them. I can get a pic tomorrow if you'd like.

Thank you. I just had a quick look at the RPM Revolvers posted on ebay and it could be just what I'm looking for (cheap, chrome, similar in appearance to Bruiser wheel, etc.). However, apparently there are a few variations (82053,82063,82073, and 82233 - all in chrome) so I'll need to understand how they differ. I think Bruiser wheels are also 2.2 and I'll want Pro-Line Trenchers like the truck in the photo above. If you don't mind, could you please post a pic of your rig? thanks again.

I've also found these from HPI. They're a little more expensive than the Revolvers ($17 vs. $9 per pair) but the quality of chrome plating appears to be a little better.
Same dimensions as Revolvers (2.2 x 2"). I've asked HPI to provide offset (or backspacing) so I can compare. I like the retro styling and subtle scale details.

Yeah, RC4WD offers really nice stuff. Now, if I only had a Bruiser instead of the TF2 I'd be set.

Regarding the adapters from ebay, it seems like they would greatly increase the track width and cause the tires to project well outside the fenders.
To each his own I guess. With mods, there are always compromises.

I agree!
Back side is really ugly but maybe some paint or faux brake rotors to hide the bare plastic. They certainly look nice on the front side and that's what matters most.
I'm really leaning toward ordering a set.
