Rc10t servo suggestions

Post by jeepnut24 »

Any recommendations for a modern servo for my vintage RC10T? I hear the Savox 1258 is good, any modern Futaba servos that compare? Any others?

The Savox 1258 has been great for me. I use them in all my racers. If your just bashing around and don't need the high speed and lightweight of the 1258 TG, look to the hitec HS-5625MG. Much faster, higher torque and holding power than a standard servo and metal gear durability for around $40. As long as you don't need a waterproof servo, these are 2 great options that I've never regretted. Can't say for the futaba servos.

If you want to go budget, Reedy 0712MG servo is pretty good. Nothing fancy, but get the job done and don't break the bank. I have a few and like them. You can find them on ebay chop shops for around $20.

I have a Turnigy TS 920 in my Durango stadium truck and I love it. It's very fast, powerful and quiet. They've increased in price since I got mine, but I think they're well worth the price. It's got very similar specs as the Savox 1258 for 1/3 less cost.
