Confirmation Parma Dead?

Post by mytimac »

I had someone looking for a Parma body and sent them to Parma. They said Parma is out of business. Anyone know for sure? I have tried calling and emails to Mike their president and got no replies or calls back. So I am guessing they are done.

Yeah around noon I finally got someone to answer the phone when I chose the shipping option.
So I guess I continue to refer people to them. Still trying to work a deal that would allow me to run those reproduction molds.
Looked at my phone call log and last February when I got the same lady it was a Thursday as well. So I am going to guess they are limited on days open and staffing, despite what the web site says. They will do direct dealer sales and they will run old molds as long as you order 20. But if like last time I got quote from them it will be about $20-25 bucks a body, no thanks.

So at least they are still running for now. She did say they get lots of questions about being in business still. Funny, I can imagine when they don't answer emails or phones this would be an issue.

these are good news, still :)

Wonder for how long if they treat their business like this, though :(

I wish they would repop the truck body they supplied to Schumacher for the Shotgun and Nitro 10 truck range.... I think you could get a fair number of sales for that, being an old-school truck body and all. Wouldn't appeal to the cab-forward racers, but for those of us that like a bit of retro, it would be a godsend.

I did this a few years ago on different body shells. not sure how much they would charge or require now. i still have a Ton of left over bodies that didn't sell LOL!
I did this a while back with Frewer's MG Metro 6R4 for TamiyaClub.... that was a lot easier, as it was (relatively) down my way, so the postage of all the bodies to me was negligible. Can't see postage to Down Under, on top of the price per body, plus postage to end buyers, ever making back enough

Shame, though, as I think there would be a market, judging by the number of people I know patching together old shells with tape and Shoe-Goo
