Help ID those wheel hexes

Hello everyone

Found out those hexes on the back of my TRX1 are not stock. Any idea what they are?

Do they have a taper inside and does the pin fit loose in the slot? They could be ones for Rc10.

I got the car with HPI wheels on it, so that's a real possibility...

The pin is not tight in the slot, but not "loose" either. However, the pin is not held by the hex, so it can slide out at any moment if the hex is not pressing on it. I'd use loctite or CA on the pin to avoid losing it (pun intended) while wrenching. I'm not sure what you mean by "inside", do you mean a tapered inside hole on the side facing the bearing? I'd have to check, but I don't think so. Would there not be an issue with the diameter of the wheel axle anyway? Metric traxxas VS imperial ae?

You may have to grind some of the adapter away so that it tightens against the pin before it hits the bearing.

Ah no, the slot in the hex is not too deep; I phrased my description clumsily. If anything the wheel axle could use a few thin shims behind the pin to take up the axial slop. It's just that the pin is not held at each of its ends, therefore, either you have to use a roll pin that is a tight fit inside the axle hole or you have to keep the pin in place with a bit of CA or Loctite. Right now when I put the wheels on the pressure of the hex against the pin keeps it from falling. For the Traxxas gurus out there, did the stock setup involve a roll pin?
