Aluminum RC10 Outdrives-- SOLD OUT
Sorry, these are sold out
As you are all probably aware, new Stealth outdrives are no longer available for RC10's. It is not clear if and when AE will be offering them again. I've been working on printed steel outdrives, but a better option is now available.
CPD will soon be offering new, machined Stealth outdrive sets in aircraft-grade aluminum.
Steel outdrives weigh about 17 grams per pair, the AL pair is only 6 grams! The AL outdrives are well suited to stock motor cars, where reduced mass, both rotating and static, are critical, especially on the rear of a tail-heavy RC10! These would also work well on the front of a Ten4, where traction is inherently limited due to weight transfer. However, even in stock motor cars, they probably will not be as durable as steel outdrives.
I have 8 pairs ready to ship! Shipping for US customers will be USPS First Class in a padded envelope, at $2.61
So for US customers the total price shipped is $34.61
Please PM me on here to arrange paypal payment. Typically I can ship next business day.
For international customers I will figure out your shipping on a case-by case basis. Please PM me if interested

Re: Steel and Aluminum RC10 Outdrives-- Coming Soon!
So you think the aluminum will hold up to a 17.5+ brushless?

Re: Steel and Aluminum RC10 Outdrives-- Coming Soon!
I think they will be okay, but they will not be as durable as the hardened steel versions for sure. But for racers looking to shave some pretty serious rotating mass, it's a worthwhile tradeoff.
I plan to get a set in the hands of JKRacing for him to test in one of his stock motor buggies ASAP to get an assessment of how they hold up. I don't own any stock motors, so I can't do it

Can I order one steel and one alloy for oval racing?
J/K
It's good to see someone jumping in to keep things ticking over. What grade alloy are the outdrives?

I gave Cliff Lett a little ribbing... Someone asked him about vintage parts drying up while he was watching the VONATS yesterday, and I said "i sure wish I could get some stealth outdrives." Lol.

As of this second... one of the out-drives is available from AE.

I found left ones on ebay cheap. But no right ones, hence why I finally was able to pull the trigger and get rights from AE and lefts from Ebay.

Re: Steel and Aluminum RC10 Outdrives-- Coming Soon!
Brian hasnt updated so I will...the current selection is for the Aluminum drives. I believe he has a batch ready to sell
The steel outdrives became an issue, one side was too long. I am working with the manufacturer to see if they can make the sides equal length for us. Currently the entire stock is offset- which is perfect for my Lethal Weapon transmissions but wont work for the Stealth.
I cant tell you what the hardness is, but to look at it, I would be willing to bet its stronger than the Chinese made Associated pieces

It's time to stand up to the bully. Support the companies that support the industry, not the ones that tear it down. Say no to Traxxas

Thanks for the info/update, Jeff. I'd really rather have these made in the USA outdrives than keep chasing AE ones.
