If it's NiB, it's so special because there aren't that many left in that condition - perfect new builds, or almost perfect ones are not abundant, but they aren't that scarce either. As I'm guessing how many built TRX-1's you already have in your stable, maybe I would recommend not doing "yet another one".The moment you build it, it won't be special anymore....
.... BUT if you're
dying to build it as you view the
building itself it as the ultimate vintage experience, then go for it for sure!
When it comes to hot-rodding it, I would only do this to something that's already been built, and preferably already run, too... Retromodding a NIB kit is a big no-no in my books, but then again, it's your kit, and your decision - whatever floats your boat
