What was considered a good Ni-Cad battery conditioner back in the day?

Actually for an assembled pack. Looking at the Hobbico Accu-cycle Pro on ebay for cheap.

Assembled stick or side by side?

For side by side... I have an Integy smart discharge tray... So I'd discharge my race packs at 30A on bulbs, then put them on the smart tray to equalize the cells. Let them cool down. Then for charging I had a Victor Hi-IQ Jr. My 15yo race packs still cycle and work to this day. :)

For sticks, all you can really do is charge/discharge. I can't remember who made them but they had "battery bugs" to help discharge to the appropriate level.
