JR Propo X-756

I'm a stick radio guy. Never going to change. I bought a JR Propo X-756 back late 1990s. Got it fired up and charged but it could use some fresh batteries internal memory and main. I emailed JR America and will see what they can do if anything.

If they can't help is there anyone on here that services old radios?

Also, Any of you stick radio guys out there what are you currently running?

We are becoming a bubble wrapped society. As long as someone understands what the risks are let them solder to the battery or do whatever else they want to. Jumping out of an airplane is dangerous, but you know the risks. Charging a lipo on Nimh to get the voltage up is not recommended, although has been done successfully millions of times.

Thanks for the inputs guys. I'll look into this and see if it's something I can do myself. I'm fairly proficient at repairs.

Update: I purchased a CR2032 battery holder with leads. Opened the case this morning about 0530 and removed the board and old battery tabs, sodered the leads to the board, installed the new battery, reinstalled the board. Put everything back together. Hardest part of that was getting the direct mode and select mode buttons and adjusters, 6 total buttons, back installed with their pusher coil springs between them and the 6 corresponding board switches. This was a real chore.

Once completed, I put in a new battery from http://www.batteriesamerica.com/ and put the whole unit on charge. Just checked and everything is working perfectly.

It took a while for everything to get here and then with the holidays I just didn't get to it until now, but I'm glad I did.
