Well, after a bit of hunting i've managed to source a couple of chassis... a used but honest A stamp gold pan and a very very mint graphite.
Along with the graphite chassis came an A&L belt drive gearbox, A&L steering set up, carbon fibre front and rear shock mounts, some titanium goodies and some Andy's rear wishbones (with a very deep curve to them??) and a Robinson toe-in adjuster.
I have cleaned up my original suspension components and gearbox so i think I might build the gold pan chassis up using my original wishbones and leave the chassis in an unrestored state. That way i won't be afraid to use and abuse it. It has some funky period decals on it which i would be reluctant to remove.
Then I can build up the graphite chassis using the hop-up parts I now have, whilst having to track down a few others to complete the build as i'd like. I will start another thread for each of those builds as they get underway.
I'd just like to thank forum member jwscab for pointing me in the direction of this chassis which is much better than i ever expected to find.

Re: RC10 Graphite - Heavy Custom
So cool how back in those days people made their own cars and conversions and were able to compete successfully. There was a bit of a revival on this when the mid-motor 2wd buggies came up, but by now they're just as commercialised as anything else.
Anyways, hat off to your dad for his engineering and supporting you.

Re: RC10 Graphite - Heavy Custom
Yeah - it certainly altered the handling and made it much more suited to my style of driving. It also raised a few eyebrows at the time, especially on the national circuit, but i loved it.
I would love to get it going again.
