Re: Repro Protech 4 body (wide problem)
I had a problem with mrlexan's 870c undertray that seemed to be just a tad bit narrow for the chassis. His was a reproduction of an original. I'm pretty sure TBG's is a reproduction or mrlexan's reproduction so I'm sure it worse.

Try Steve (Penguin bodies) on eBay he's made a new mold and they seem to fit better than the TBG ones

When did you last try a Penguin one? I ask cus he's made a new mold recently and said he's added some to it to make it fit properly, I've got one but as yet haven't tried it yet but it's not destiny for a 870 anywaytamiyadan wrote:FYI all the reproductions are narrow. mr lexan, Penguin that other one that starts with a W or M i can't remember are all not great, TBG are the worst versions.
TBG they are warped and really narrow, like he pulled them off the molds way too early before the lexan cooled.
the others are better however if you really want it to fit well you will have to narrow your chassis about 2-3mm, especially by the front elbow.
otherwise it will fit so tight and narrow that the paint will just come off the first time you push it on the chassis.

The one that he's selling on eBay now is the latest one and I think he said he added about 3mm to the mold. He's been telling me about the molds used and he thinks that TBG must use fibreglass as they shrink with the heat.

Mrlexan made a mold from an original under tray. Oldrc.com bought his molds and they can be bought on their site.

I know a guy who 3D printed a 1/10 truck cab mold for a commercial project and it was about $3,000 on a high resolution printer.

Tamiyadan, that is not a correct statement. Mine were not a copy of a copy. Mine were a copy of an original tray.tamiyadan wrote:mr lexan was a copy of a copy.
I am not here cause I am playing photographer and on my mountain bike.
