Re: Optima is back!!
Tower Hobbies just informed me that the Optimas are in! I just paid for mine, and it should arrive on the 14th!
My long-time GF does not grasp my insane giddy-ness over being able to get one of these. Oh my gawd it feels like I'm 14 again!

Depends on what you mean by "upgrades" apparently. The kit does indeed come with some upgrades, but not *every* upgrade.

Re: Optima is back!!
I wonder what the parts supply will be like. With the RC10 re-releases, there's been a massive supply of new parts available, I wonder if the Kyosho's will be the same? I do know that a lot of shops don't carry Kyosho parts because Kyosho mandates at least a $500 order each time, so the LHS can't just order a few things for a customer.
If there IS a decent parts supply, I'll run one of the two I'm getting. I will likely wait a bit and see how things materialize, or not.

I'm sure you will see a few shops carrying parts but you will see people breaking them up on eBay for sure. They always do, and it's a great source of parts

Re: Optima is back!!
It's already possible to buy some parts from Banzaihobby in Japan.

I'm more interested in knowing if the re-re front skidplate fits the original car...rccars4sal wrote:Can owners of the new confirm yes or no that original chassis parts are interchangeable with new? Im of course concerned about the flat alloy pieces. Thanks!

Re: Optima is back!!
A few comparison pics, so far everything looks compatible.
Not sure why but one hole was slightly relocated- nothing major The rest all lines up, little changes but all compatible for sure! Front tower is obviously taller, rear camber mounts changed, extra hole in chassis for bulkhead to bolt down instead of zip tie. Etc
